Yeah Arruda said something along the lines of "it's just going to send the particles flying around farther and create air movement in the classroom"... Which, well, also makes sense.

Depends how the filtration is done I guess, maybe the output needs to be sent out the window...

I'm not sure, but air filtration specialists would be good additions to their group of advisors, if they don't have any.

The SPVM doing SPVM things... I have no problems with them handing out fines when its warranted but lets not use the curfew to harass people.

Montreal evening-shift workers slapped with curfew fines despite authorization letters | CTV News

I have a job that might require me to work after the curfew. And I have an authorization letter. So this bothers me. So far I haven't needed to work those hours. But this weekend, I might need to work during those hours.

I may just end up going to work before 8PM and finish after 5AM. I'm taking no chance. Even if I can contest the ticket, I don't want to waste my time with that shit.

I know that some colleagues had trouble with their authorization letters because the phone number written on it wasn't available at night

:help:

I understand that the police don't have any real way of knowing if you are on your way to work or on your way back home from work. Especially if the phone number on the authorization letter isn't available. For all they know, it could be someone who, at that moment, is taking advantage of having the letter to just go out. Some may even put their work clothes on to try and fool them.

I assume the letters must include date and work hours. If you finished at 10pm and you're out at midnight...something's off. If you work in Lasalle and live in St-Dorothy but you're in ville St-Laurent, something's off.

Sounds about right, something like that may be what happened here.

In-person school has been driving Montreal COVID-19 infection rates: study

Yet another study pointing to schools being big factor.
''While the authors acknowledge the important of school for children's “development and mental health,” they recommend limiting the number of children attending classes until case numbers are reduced drastically.
Once schools do reopen, they recommend compulsory mask-wearing for all primary and secondary school students and staff, social distancing at all times, and effective ventilation in all schools."

Yea, a lot more things need to be taken into account as you point out.

My colleague told me that she heard on the radio that a group of people were leaving work and were waiting for the bus. The police gave them all tickets even though they showed their authorization papers.

So you wonder, is it some people taking advantage of their authorization papers? Is it some cases where cops don't care?

At my daughter's elementary school, they made masks mandatory. Kids in grade 5 and 6 have to also wear them in class.

Kids from kindergarten to grade 4 are not required to wear it in class, but must wear them in the hallway. And also, for the kids who stay after school for the service de garde, no matter what grade they're in, they have to wear masks the entire time until their parents come pick them up.

My daughter is in grade 2 and tells my wife and I that she chooses to keep her mask all day, even in class.

That's probably the problem with my letter. We don't have time on it. Some people have different working times too but they gave the same letter to everyone whether you work 8-16, 10-18, 12-20, later in the evening or at night.

Initially, my company gave us letters with no time on them. Two days later, they brought us new papers with shifts on it.

The thing is, I work at a private airport, which is open 24/7. My usual shift is Monday to Friday 8 to 4. But sometimes, aircrafts arrive at night and fly the next morning, so they require a disinfection. So my authorization letter does list my shift from Monday to Sunday 8PM to 5AM in case someone from our team is required to be at work during those hours.

Ya that article was posted, they worked at Good Food but the letter they contained didn't have the right phone number apparently.

Anything to help I guess. The problem is kids are often asymptomatic apparently, so it's being spread without knowing.
My issue is mostly that cases are high, we didn't even wait for them to drop a little bit before letting kids go in. They delayed reopening by one week...not sure what that was supposed to accomplish.

People working 8-16 or 10-18 need a letter?

If I were a cop I'd be wary of a letter stating your work shift is exactly the curfew hours, all week...:biglaugh:

Did public health say what they are relying upon to say there is "no proof?" International experts have endorsed the view that ventilation is an important component to counter the virus and other infectious particles.
