And the fact that NB isn't a hub city for flights from Europe like Toronto or Montreal. They were less infected, because they had less infected that were in contact with residence.

it is certainly not a hub city. :sarcasm:

At my Costco , if you refuse to wear a mask they are taking notes of it . No idea what they are doing with the datas afterward. I woman behind me refused to take the mask the clerk gave to her and the clerk wrote it down .

Revoking memberships?

What happened here is that another customer told an employee, the employee contacted a manager who talked to the guy who I guess volunteered to leave. They might otherwise use the system as in Canada with writing down it, this was my first visit to a Costco since early February? Escorted was perhaps the wrong word it may sound like when a bouncer or a cop take someone out, it was this guy and one of the managers that came walking and he left. I find it so strange that people refuse to wear one, especially since they give you one for free?

Masks are here for the long term so it's hardly surprising that multinational sports corporations are getting into the game. You can get some very fashion-conscious looks from several sources.

Kinda feels like a second wave is coming. A small one but one nonetheless.

I think most experts have been saying all along that a 2nd wave is expected.

I just dont know how they define it. Can a first wave even be considered complete if cases are still arising? I would think that you have to have a certain amount of time with no cases at all before we can say the first wave is over.

Two months ago, Quebec was averaging 800-900 cases a day. We're down to 10% of that. It's fair to say there's no more wave right now. Will there be a spike during the summer? I doubt it, because -- to their credit -- the government is targeting the high-risk areas like bars and public transport. Those infection hubs are being regulated, so hopefully we can chop off a mini-wave before it starts. Everything else that's open doesn't seem to be causing infections. The status quo is pretty good and life is almost back to normal (though I really miss live music).

A second wave is inevitable one way or another, because people always get sick in the Fall. Schools open, people move indoors, and everybody's got symptoms. Will it be Covid or regular flu/cold? Won't really matter, because the bottom line is how many people are hospitalized and how many die. So yeah, I'm sure there will be a spike in sick people, but hopefully not a spike in ICU patients and dead seniors. A bunch of people will be sniffling and coughing from October through April, but if we stay home when sick, wear masks on the Metro, and steer clear of residences, it could remain business as usual.

I don't usually wear a mask because I don't believe it's necessary when I'm in a grocery store or pharmacy. However, my dad's condo requires mask-wearing, so I'll put one on. My friend's very cautious, so I put one on when I picked her up on Thursday. My cousin asked if I could put on a mask when I went to her apartment last weekend, so I did. In none of these cases did I notice a decline in my freedom or feel any of my rights trampled.

If Costco asks me to put on a mask, I'll do it without taking offence. In fact, the only thing I take offence to in this great mask debate is the hijacking of societal pillars like "Freedom" and "Rights" to glorify people's petty little egos. Nothing has pissed me off more than the entitled children in adult bodies screeching about their personal freedom. Read a history book, remind yourself what "Freedom" and "Rights" represent, grow the **** up and feel shame over throwing a tantrum over a freakin mask.

We can only hope.

In BC, things have ben relatively good for the last several weeks as far as new cases go.

But I feel like there has been a collective letting down of the guard to a certain extent as things are opening up again. So far, it's not reflecting in any large spikes, but I just don't feel like we are out of the woods just yet.

The government has their part in the policies they implement, but alot of the impact or lack thereof of a 2nd wave will ultimately come down to the citizens, and their mentality towards exposure risk as this pandemic carries own.

Will we continue to adhere to the advice of the medical community or will we lose ground from covid protocol fatigue, and revert a little too far back to what was our old normal.

That's funny stuff, but lucky for him no one pulled out a gun.

I know, this is filmed in Sao Paolo Brazil. I am pretty sure there are plenty of weapons around given the crime rates. It's like a TV show with Brazil's version of Montreal's own Just for Laughs but it is much more crude and brutal. There are videos of cleaning ladies in a mortuary where zombies coming through a wall that is broken down and they don't stop even if some of those poor women are fainting.

How to stretch 5 paragraphs into a short novel. Turned it from a good story to an over sensationalized fluff piece.
Give me this kind of fluff piece over an anti-mask harangue by another self-entitled moron. It's nice to see stories about "How can I help you?" rather than "How dare you!".

I agree 100% that success depends on our personal behaviour. Governments can only mandate; we're the ones that actually act. And speaking of how we act:

you don’t say?

Big thanks to club patrons and owners who are leading the charge towards that second wave. Power to the oblivious!

It was dumb as f*** to open bars and even worse do keep them open after multiple outbreaks. And watch them be packed again tonight. It sometimes feels like they want this thing to spread everywhere.

You want bars open? Fine. No standing, max groups of 4, no leaving your table, and only non alcoholic drinks can be served.

How would one enforce a bar to serve only non alcoholic drinks.

Yeah it looked pretty risky, was thinking some of those hefty ladies were going to get heart attacks.

Those idiots are ruining it for everyone else. Let's just hope that anyone infected has enough brain cells left to stay home.
