Exactly. And no where do I see them pleading for an all out lockdown for every business out there. And since you posted it, listen to them.

Who cares if they didn't plea for it in the article. You don't know what they want. Plus it's just two people telling their covid story.

maybe they should go to a mall, like West Ed, and talk to all the people there who aren't wearing masks
bet they'd find barely a handful

cause every time I'm there, I've yet to see a group of people not wearing masks

Mask compliance here is high all over. I'm not even seeing the nose sticking out thing anymore. I mean we probably have the highest proportion of people that are wearing masks outside when they are driving, in their cars..

Like I've been saying large family households here are probably being a significant driver here as well as the Carehomes and some work environments. Edmonton seems to be pretty responsible, despite the numbers we're seeing.

Calgary is probably much worse than edmonton for this kind of thing, and I'm not being typically City Centric saying that. The I don't give a f*** quotient and doing ones own thing runs higher in Calgary. Calgary more US than Edmonton, alway has been. Big cowboy hats, big liberty down there.

Edmonton as far as compliance probably better than most of province. That isn't seen in the figures presently, but Calgary will pass us in active cases again.
I would think all places require you to have a mask on or leave. Personally I have not seen a maskless maquerader out there yet amoungst places of business. And it seems every time one of them does make an appearance and puts up a stink, they are unceramoniously removed from the premises, captured in the news and on video.

They stated, they want people to wear masks and social distance. That , is all they stated in the article you posted.

Gonna be tough, we're almost 1000 cases more than them currently. Edm 5479 to Cgy 4614

If they wanted total lockdowns, and that the government and provincial health minister have let them down, I imagine they would have mentioned that as well.

Nothing groundbreaking or anything we don't already know. Appears that you posted it just to stir up shit again.

lol, what are you even talking about. You're not making any sense.

“I know many are tired of hearing COVID-19 is not over, but it is still with us,” Hinshaw posted on Sunday.
“While it may be disappointing, the greatest thing you can do for your loved ones is to stay home if you’re feeling unwell and arrange for COVID-19 testing.”
Some great quotes from Hinshaw in those articles. A whole bunch of things she was saying back in August that you completely ignored and claimed she never said.

Polls like those have little to no meaning IMO.

Calgary: Hold my beer, we got this.

Active numbers can change in a hurry and Calgary was slightly ahead of us just a week ago.

Let off the gas pedal a little.

Every day here its 20 posts in the thread, half of them with Hinshaw or something you feel the govt is f***ing up. Really I mean well with this but start watching Netflix or something. I mean get a break from Covid. I'll say what millions of people have probably stated. Its not just covid, its fear about Covid that is creating harm. We're gonna pull though this hopefully and people increase their chances of that being very careful with all their actions and abiding by recommended guidelines. Its the best we can do.

why are you lying? You trashed her all week stating she wasn’t saying the right things. Stating she wasn’t getting the message out.

cute that you resort to personal attacks when you’ve been caught in your own web of lies.

please, quote me. if you can somehow find that quote, which i doubt, i bet i can find even more where i say i like a lot of the things she says but her actions (lack of measures and lockdown) are inconsistent with what she says. i know for a fact that @Drivesaitl can back me on this.

Well, no, you're on your own. When I was being flamed by one poster here this week you were the only one liking all of those posts. Sorry, but you showed your hands and colors with that.

again, another misrep. i never liked tam or really defended her. lol, you're ridiculous with the misrepresentation. It's hard to blame you for purposely doing it because i think you really just lack comprehension skills. Please, don't ever claim others are misreppin you because you are the king of that.

Not misrepresenting anything. Just the other day you were saying you want Federal control over everything because you believe and trust in Tam. You sitting here claiming that you haven’t been incredibly critical of Hinshaw every single day for months is hilarious. You’re using a huge lie to cover up more lies. It’s pathetic.

lol No. I think you don't even remember all the invective you've unleashed on Hinshaw and the Govt here. Its like so often its hard to keep track.

But theres not even reason to search. By tomorrow you'll be stating more of the same and "never do that"

Surprise us. Go two days without completely bashing the prov response here. I doubt you can.

Anybody see this article this weekend?

Trudeau says country's future at stake as COVID-19 projections take troubling turn - HalifaxToday.ca

"Future at stake"

Think about those words. Think about the abject overstatement.

I mean this is something Churchill could state in 1940. This isn't that.

But the tabloids (translation all our papers) gobble it up and its front page, AND the headline.

You know, we're going to get though this, and to his credit I guess JT is even saying that even as he's given to hyperbole.

Article goes on to cite yet another doomsday TM modeling scenario that projects Canada "could" be seeing 60K cases per day by end of year, and predicts 20k cases per day by the end of December (same time...)

Um, I'll go out on a limb here and state Canada, currently getting around 5K cases per day hitting 60 K is an off their ASS prejection. Another stupid model with 3-4 coefficients, just plugged in, no reality, and no concept that Canada has a finite population of 37M. Yeah, that ain't happening. it would be impossible to even test enough people to come up with 2M positives in a month and on a rate of around 5% infected you'd have to test +25M people in a month, most of the pop of the entire country, to come up with say 2M cases in a month. jebus.

Fact checking is just out the window with covid. Somebody writes crap from a projection, everybody runs with it, who stops and thinks about it? I mean realistically.

Even the lower figure, 20K positive infections in Canada, per day, is literally impossible to get to and would require testing around 250K people in a day just to approach that number, and assuming really high rates of infection like Alberta currently seeing, across the country..

Not that these numbers are going to be occurring anyway in a country with this population, and this limited population density.

These are just more sky is falling, doomsday statements and scenarios that we need ignore and continue to to the best we can to limit numbers.

Good thing I’m an introvert with a video game addiction. I could do this lockdown stuff for years.

Give the average Albertan access to Amazon, Skip the Dishes, Pornhub and video games, and he’ll be asking ‘Lockout, what lockout?’ ;)

You'd wonder because very low amount (thankfully) is translating to severe outcomes. The hospital cases, and ICU cases seem disconnected to the case amounts. Which is interesting.

On October 31st Alberta had 6,110 active cases, 167 in hospital with 27 in ICU.

Today Alberta has 12,195 acitve cases, 319 in hospital, 60 of which are in ICU.

Where is the disconnect? It's essentially doubled across the board in 3 weeks. We've also seen nearly 30% of all COVID deaths in Alberta during this pandemic occur in the past 22 days.
