Corum dies in the end. Totally kidding. Running thing my oldest best friend did. Was super stoked to read this fantasy trilogy and he open then opened the last page of the book and the last line was the main character dieing and chucked the book across the room.
Honestly not much to spoil with the next two books other than just the one major major character cliff hanger. Literally trying to think anything of note and just can't. Don't get me wrong some of the side story stuff in FoC was cool. Not even sure how much could be mined there. After just re-reading it the Cersei chapters were about unbearable. And in Dance a lot of new characters it is hard to care about. And right when like when the stuff amps up literally the book is over. Since these last two are one big book I hope to some day to the two combined in the order they were intended. Or re-issue both 4 and 5 divided up.
On the positive front I think this gives the showrunners more room to do their own thing

Totally man. I mean WTF. I watch TOO much TV being a videophile but that was one of those most bizarre showrunner moves to this day and I have no idea why they went that way. Honestly it seemed like a FU to AMC considering they were fired. I also didn't like how the whole vengeance thing was dropped lickity split. All said happy it stuck around as a period western show. Love how it shows just how little life was worth on the frontier back then.

I loved the first 3 books but the last 2 drove me nuts with the incredible lack of story advancement. I wanted to just put them down and forget it many times but felt too invested to do that and just prayed that something, anything, would happen, only to be constantly disappointed.
And the way they broke what would have been the 4th book in 2 was ridiculous. By location instead of time? Who does that? So when you are reading the 5th book and there are references to events in the other location you already know what happened because it happened in book 4. WTH?!?!?!?
So yeah not a fan of books 4 and 5...
