Who has more trade value? Mario Ferraro or Andrew Peeke?
You’d have to think Ferraro at this point. Every time you wanna like Peeke, he shows why we shouldn’t. Teams see this too. With all those scouts in the building last week in Detroit, he made 3-4 really bad decisions.

The talent is there. You hate to say he’ll never “get it” but that might not happen until after teams give up on him. Like a Jake Walman. Two years ago, people said a lot of those same things about him. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, Walman stopped doing all the dumb things he’d always done. Now, he’s a solid NHL player, who almost any team would love having. You seen what happened to Detroit’s D after he was hurt the other day. Right in the toilet having to play Chiarot important minutes.

Ferraro has turned that corner to a degree. All you have to do is ask yourself, who would you rather have on the ice, late in a game? It’s Ferraro and it’s by a wide margin honestly.

And I’ve always liked and believed in Peeke. Is what it is though. You can’t trust him.

Why not? CBJ has a bunch of cap room
They do for now, but with potentially having to take back contracts to move some players (which is kind of crazy to think of) that are underperforming again and with the level of young talent on the roster they will have to re-sign over the next 2-4 years. That cap space won't go far if they start burning it now.
