Poor PP player on one of the worst PP teams of the last decade. The one season the Avs did decent on the PP Barrie was a good contributor to it. I think he has another gear on the PP when he's not used as the cannon in an umbrella. He and EJ work well together, I kind of wish the Avs would pair them up and give Barrie the left side to help open up ice for his shot (which is accurate, but useless against a wall of meat on a PP).
I agree with this. he's been structured to play a very small role on the PP in Colorado without allowing him to use any creativity which is his strength. Funny because he was able to QB the PP for Canada at the WHC terrifically before he got hurt where he lead the tournament in scoring and pp points.
I'm just commenting on the poster who criticized his ES capability while calling him a PP specialist when his NHL career has shown to be the exact opposite of that.
