he'd be a decent bottom 6 player. has shown in the past he has some skill (notably with CBJ) and plays with some jam. has some decent underlying stats nothing mindblowing and hard to conclude anything really given his usage and limited time.

apparently lost weight and got quicker this off-season too which was a drawback of his time in WPG

So Winnipeg lost Dano and Armia for next to nothing ?
Well they gained cap-space trading armia+mason in a deal to MTL. i don't think that cap space was used optimally though (ie: didn't sign morrissey or trouba to long term deals)

So Winnipeg lost Dano and Armia for next to nothing ?

Not a bad thing ... esp. in Armia's case, we could have been stuck with Mason instead of Broissot. Plus, the overall friction of having NHL calibre players sitting int he press box each night. I'm betting at the end of the day, the Jets were doing a Dano a favour for having such a good attitude and coming into camp in great shape. They could have sent Lemieux down for nothing, but gave Dano a fresh start elsewhere instead.

What's going to be interesting is how long they let Petan and Lemieux not play before making another decision.... Perreault will get hurt soon so one will get a chance. Do they start sitting Veselainen and let Lemieux add some energy?? Do they move Little down and give Petan or Roslovic a chance with Laine/Ehlers? Little did well last night.

Puck seems to follow him around in the offensive zone. He'll provide some secondary scoring and I think will be a good fit on the Av's 3rd/4th line. Just hopefully not against the Jet's.

Plus he knows all Winnipeg's secrets.

Winnipeg MB.
Was he injured or just scratched last yr?
Scratched.

Good depth pick up for Colorado, he's better than most 4th liners in the league. Someone should have picked him up that was higher in the waiver wire order than the Avs.

Good luck to him, hopefully he gets a fair shot. Was always a good guy about his playing time (or lack of) and being team first.

Jets couldn’t give Dano any worthwhile minutes because of their wing depth.
He’s better off in Colorado where he should be able to get regular roster time.

Liked Dano but took him far too late to figure out that he was carrying too much weight. This season, he came in 15lbs lighter and seemed to be a little quicker. He was also solid the year before last until he got injured in a home game vs the Bluejackets. From there, he never seemed to rebound.

By all accounts, sounded like he took his usage last year in stride and this is Winnipeg giving him an opportunity elsewhere.

Hope he succeeds(Except against Wpg)

Smart move. Colorado has good high end players but need depth, Dano is exactly the kind of guy that deserves a shot to get some ice time.
Definitely a smart pickup. Hate to see him go, but never got along with coach here as was the case in Chicago. Definitely has the talent to survive, just needs to convince a coach to keep him in the lineup.

Kerby Rychel Marko Dano is a half point PPG in the AHL who keeps getting chances because he was a first round pick that garned a bit of buzz for being the "prospect" in some high profile deals.

He'll be back on waivers in no time.

Well, Bednar has coached Dano before and the Avs have a ton of ex-Blue Jackets. Shouldn't be too hard.
