You win this round!
If only my autocorrect hadn’t changed my title (necessitating an edit) to “Abs claim Marlo Dano”!
Liked him in Cbus.
Hasn't shown much after that.
Smart move. Colorado has good high end players but need depth, Dano is exactly the kind of guy that deserves a shot to get some ice time.
Jumping Jellyfish. Thats a slick pickup. The guy has some nice talent
I remember he was highly touted at one point, didn't seem to pan out that way. Good bottom 6er?
Definitely better than Dries, Bourque, Nieto(right now), and Kamenev(bottom 6 version). Nice pick-up.
Could be a solid 3rd line guy.
I hope he makes a good career in Colorado but chokes whenever he plays the Jets.
I wonder how many teams put in a claim.
Maurice never liked him, hopefully hela gets the chance now
800k for 1 year, then RFA. Solid coin flip, could become a 12-15 goal 3rd line wing.
Don't know how/why we didn't move him for a late pick a la Carrick etc but oh well, a victim of winger depth in Winnipeg. Hope he gets actual playing time in Denver.
Awesome. Definitely nice to add depth and fits well on the fourth line. Can play him or Nieto depending on who shows more. Kamenev can get more time to develop after losing out on last season.
Played for Bednar in AHL. maybe he wanted him?
Surprised no team would give a late round pick to make sure they got him instead of rolling the waiver wire dice?
Good luck to Dana he was never gonna get a shot in the Peg
Decent pick up. Not sure how he got all the way to Colorado to be honest.
Very nice move for Colorado. As mentioned, they have the high end Forwards, but very little depth after that. I dont think Dano will ever be an idea top 6 forward. However, he could be molded into a good 3rd/4th line forward.
Avs looking much deeper at F now:
Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Compher - Kerfoot - Wilson
Jost - Soderberg - Calvert
Nieto - Kamenev - Dano
I think that 4th line could be decent actually. Nice thing about Dano is that he can play all 3 forward positions I think...but probably better on the wing.
Great pickup for the Avs, liked Dano in Winnipeg. Dislike that he went to a division rival, but such is life.
What will the lounge think?
I'm happy for Dano. He deserved a better chance to play in the league, Jets are just too stacked.
There are some guys in the bottom of the lineup that could use more competition. Couldn’t hurt. But I never get too optimistic about waiver pickups at least half the league passed on.
4th team already and he's only 23. Guy is simply a tweener, but I hope he finds a home.
He's not that good.
