They can sign him at the end of the season and then assign him to Laval. Doesn't have to play with the big club. I think he will sign this year, he's already stated he wants to and the way he's putting up goals so far you'd have to think they'd be happy to oblige.

Then it's up to him. If he comes in and starts scoring in Laval or next training camp, he may just force their hand. But they'd be nothing wrong with signing him and letting him at least start with Laval. Develop more pro habits, get used to the pro schedule, intensity, etc. But if he comes in a scores and scores...good luck keeping him off the roster.

Wisconsin won't go anywhere with their goaltending. Lebedeff is....not very good.

Primary assist from Caufield, nice zone entry, drags 2 bodies on him, does a good drop pass in danger zone!

Was pretty sick!
not a fan of how the powerplay is ran tho. 1 defenders down the middle feeding pucks. forces all the opposition to be packed in the middle lane, wich removes alot of cross-ice pass. Miller and kalynuk are shooting way too much in traffic and with this middle lane being stacked it's nearly always blocked, they are both way too static and it makes every single pass obvious. Looks like the strategy is just to bring pucks to the net and have 4 guys from every angle trying to get loose puck...

Nice to see his confidence is increasing. What a great start for such a young player.

Wisconsin's offence seems to have dried up a bit. They've scored only 18 goals in the last 7 games and 22 goals in the last 9. That's only about 2.5 goals per game. They're not going to win very many games scoring that amount of goals.

I would love for Caufield to break out and score a couple soon. He's shooting a ton, so eventually they should start going in.

They got 6 guys providing almost the entire production for the whole team, it's just not a very deep roster this year for the Badgers. The freshman class ( Caufield, Turcotte, Holloway, Lindmark) is pretty darn good though so there's hope.

True. The problem is that Caufield and Turcotte will probably be gone at the end of this year.

Do they keep track of TOI in NCAA? Caufield seemed to be on ice every second shift.
They do not as far as I know. However, if you are listening to the radio/not watching the TV you could be hearing the Caufield name a lot because his brother, Brock, is also on the team. Could also be trying to get their best goal scorer out on the ice in a game they were down 1-2 goals for a majority of the time.

Especially with their defense being absolutely atrocious. 3.55GAA .886sv%. The gophers put on a clinic for how a team should play defensively. Don't see that often from the Badgers. Did it against Duluth and the first game against Notre Dame. Here was the setup for the second gopher goal:

All three of Caufield, Turcotte, and Achan were high in the zone. I believe it was Turcotte's (#15) responsibility to cover the forward that the two dmen didn't have.

It's gonna be really sad when Turcotte and Caufield (and possibly Holloway as well) leave at the end of the year. This is supposed to be the big year of getting back into the NCAAs and think many Badger fans are starting to realize that Granato, Strobel and Osiecki are just not very good at coaching these kids up.

Not realy, he's getting a bunch of chances and creating some by himself, he's just not capializing on them right now, he'll unlock!

Agreed. They're just not going in for him right now, but he's had a bunch of chances and is always one of the leaders for SOG. They'll start going in at one point.
