Vancouver Canucks Final 2009/2010 Line-Up for your Review:

Sedin(5.85)-Sedin(5.85)-Burrows(2)
Gaborik(6.25)-Sundin(3)-Kesler(1.75)
Raymond(0.883)-Wellwood(1.1)-Bernier(2)
Hordichuk(0.75)-Johnson(1.15)-Rypien(0.55)
Hansen(0.55)

Mitchell(3.5)-Bieksa(3.75)
Salo(3.5)-Edler(3.25)
O'Brien(1.1)-Ranger(0.994)
Davison(0.56)

Luongo(6.75)
Schnieder(1.284)

Through creative tinkering of the cap we've managed to keep together our same core group of players while making some significant upgrades to last years roster. Forward Marion Gaborik and defenseman Paul Ranger were our primary additions.

Wow, nice job, $56.3M. But what happens when guys get injured for 2 or 3 games? Are you going to pull a Calgary and dress less guys?

Are you sure you're a contender? That defence got destroyed by the Blackhawks in the playoffs.

And what happened to Demitra?

Hahah oh yes, Demitra... He's uh, I dunno... Got hit by a car in the off season and is on LTIR? Hahah.. I dunno.. I'll put him on waivers of something, Demitra and his 4mil cap hit pisses me off.

Well we didn't UPGRADE our D, we didn't downgrade it either. I think Ranger will fit into Ohlunds role nicely. And Chicago is too fast for our D; overall they are still good, we're not gonna blow of the line up over one team being able to exploit that.

We added Gaborik.. If he stays healthy we will have excellent secondary scoring, we also expect more from Sundin since he will be starting his season in training camp.

If injuries occur we have some depth to fill it. Rypien is a center that can be moved up to the 3rd line... Wellwood can slot into the top 6 as can Raymond. We'll do ok. But yes, we MAY have to pull a Calgary haha.

Your defence is strong, but you offence lacks depth. Don't worry though Jersey won the cup with a similarly built team.

Yup, with a line up like that. I would hope that speed, 2 way play and an aggresive forecheck can help create more chances and make up for the lack of pure scoring talent up front.

Waiving Demitra might not go over too well with other players on the team, namely Gaborik. I think you did the best you could because you can't overhaul the entire defence in one off-season. But, you clearly need to create space for Demitra. I'd be happy to take Luongo off your hands ;)

Off the record, the proper steps are being taken to assure that Demitra will meet with an unfortunate 'accident' and not count against the cap next season.. Don't worry, I got this... Heh..

Lightning have signed free agent forward Chris Neil, formerly of the Ottawa Senators. Its a 2 year deal for one million per season.

Neil is expected to fill out the third line in Tampa.

Detroit is trying to make one last move top get a top 6 winger. Willing to move Hudler or Kulemin, plus Andreas Lilja and/or prospects to get a good top 6 winger.

You can basically have Demitra.

Between you and me he's scheduled to be hit by a bus next week sometime.

So you basically want someone to give you a good, young top 6 forward with a great contract.... good luck with that ;)

It's this new thing called trading. In turn, we both recieve something. ;) Nah, I can take a bit of cap, depending on how much I send back, it's just that after the bus hits him, He'll probably be injured for a bit.

You field a 21 man roster and are literally pushed up against the cap. You should be a bit more realistic and realize that you need a 23 man roster. I don't think you should be able to throw a player on LTIR to fix your cap problem. Even if you get rid of Demitra (waved, minors, whatver) you still can't even field a 23 man roster and you would be "pulling a Calgary" regularly during the season.

This Demitra thing isn't going to happen. Unless they can deal him he counts against the cap and someone will have to be moved.

Also did you get my last message, about a day or two ago?

Colorado still has many players available. Liles, Svatos, Wolski, Tucker, Clark, Salei, and others are available for the right price.
