League Commissioner - cody275

Other people may be appointed to help the game run smoother, if you are interested in any job please PM me with what job (ex. UFA agent, RFA agent, draft, trades, etc.)

Game Outline
  • The game will begin after all teams have GM's, teams may contact other GM's before the game officially starts but no trades can be announced until all GM positions have been filled.
Trade veto process - Trades can be vetoed if they seem to lop-sided or unrealistic towards one team. Only league commissioners have the power to veto a trade. If you think that a trade is to unrealistic or lop-sided, you may express your concern to a league commissioners.

Buyouts/Waivers
Each GM will be allowed to send one player on his roster. To buyout a player, you must first put them on waivers. If after 24 hours, no team has put a claim on the player you have 4 options:
1) Keep the player
2) Buyout the player.
3) Put the player on re-entry waivers and hope someone picks him up of it, this would eliminate half of his cap hit from your team.
4) Send the player to the minors.
There will be restrictions on who you can send to the minors.

Here they are:

-Teams cannot send down a veteran that has more than 2 years to his contract.
-Teams cannot send down a veteran they signed in this game.

You can continue to waive players if you want to but then you will either have to buy them out or keep them on your roster.

All buyouts must be final before the beginning of Free Agency.

NTCs and NMCs
Every GM's worst nightmare. A list of players who fall in these categories can be found at http://nhlscap.com/no_trade.htm. Trades involving a player with a NTC/NMC will be taken very seriously in this game. Each trade with a NTC/LNTC/NMC will be reveiwed by the commissioners. Only deals that make sense for the player will be finalized.

Teams that are looking to trade players on their roster who have a LNTC/NTC/NMC should talk with the player's agent __________ before anything happens. Get a list of teams your player would agree to be traded to and if the player has a NTC or NMC and that list is zero teams then so be it.

WAIVERS THREAD - In this game we will have a thread for waivers. A GM who wants to place a player on waivers will announce it in the main thread, then post it in the waivers thread. The time stamp of the post will determine when the 24 hours begins. If a team wants to place a claim on the player, they will indicate their interest by posting a request to claim in this thread. Waiver claims will always be determined by whatever the real NHL standings are at the time of the claim.

So for example: say the Anheim GM waived Jonas Hiller.
The Anaheim GM would post that he is waiving the player in the threads (both main thread and waivers thread). And say, 15 teams claimed him, whichever team is the lowest in the standings according to this past season will get him.

Retirements/ LTIR - If you want one of your players to retire or be place on long term injury, this will also be handled by the League commissioners.

If a player is placed on LTIR, they still count against the cap, but that team can spend over the actual cap in the amount of the player’s contract.

Example: Player A's cap hit is $2.5 million and they are placed on LTIR. He still counts to the cap, can spend $2.5 million over the cap.

Coach/Management Hiring -

If you are interested in hiring a coach or member of management for your team you must post your interest in the this thread. If after 24 hours, nobody else has expressed interest in hiring that person then he is automatically signed with you. However if another GM also expresses interest within that 24 hours then both GM's must contact a commissioners and explain why that person should accept your offer to join you organization.

NHL Entry Draft -

resource: http://www.prosportstransactions.com/hockey/DraftTrades/
We will only do the 1st and 2nd round in this years draft, unless the majority of people would like to go another round or two. Each GM will be required to send a list of players that you would like to pick, you may choose to use the ISS rankings instead if you want. If you are not going to be here for the draft it would be appreciated if we had a list so we could make your pick and move on to the next team. At the draft each team will be given 10 minutes before a player is automatically picked for them.

RFAs Agent - ________________ will handle negotiations for all restricted free agents for both conferences. Each GM must send offers for all players to him. We may appoint someone else to assist in this process if needed.

~ Looking for someone interested in being the agent for all RFA players.

Contract Extensions -

_______________ will handle any contract extensions. All offers are to be sent to him. Granted, keep in mind he will not be extending the contracts of players just to do it. It will have to be a good deal that makes sense for the player to sign, just as if it was dealing with a RFA or UFA.
~ Looking for people interested in being the agent for UFA's and handling players resigning before FA begins

Salary Cap FAQs
max amount of players: 23
Upper Limit: $56,700,000
Lower Limit: $40,000,000
Salary Cap Sites: nhlscap.com

Rosters thread - There will be a roster thread created, each general manger is required to post their teams roster in there. This will make it simpler to see what players are available on each team and also what other GM's are still looking to acquire. Each GM may only post once in the thread, this will keep it easier to find each persons post. It would be helpful if you could update your post as much as possible, so that people do not contact you about a player that you have already dealt to someone else. This will help limit confusion.

Most GM spots are still available for anyone interested. If you have been approved you can start negotiating with other GM's, you just can't announce anything until it has been filled up a bit more.
