Cleveland Indians. What a classic, iconic franchise. And it’s gone. It’s just not the same. Terrible.
Yeah, their mascot should have been more middle eastern tbh.I mean the problem there is that “Indians” aren’t actually…..Indian
Yeah, their mascot should have been more middle eastern tbh.
But I’m certain there are plenty of middle eastern people there. Definitely more than Chief Wahoo’s.Crazy fact India isn’t part of the middle east

Yes, let's keep catering to everyone who says they're offended by something, that most certainly will work out well in the end. It's insane to change the name of a team that has offended native americans for decades? I'd hate to live in your world
FTFY
the funniest part about this thread is that 95% of the posters in it aren't even active on the baseball board. they just ventured in here to cry about "cancel culture"

I like baseball, but I’m not a hardcore fan of it. I used to be, but I don’t really have the time to watch games. Hockey is easier, because screw going outside in winter if I don’t have to.
I hate the name change. Because they were named after what I am, Cleveland became my team. I didn’t like the name changing, but I got it. I hate this name it’s changed to. I wanted Spiders, which was the name before it was changed to Indians.
But the plus side is, the name change gave us this joke.
The Cleveland American League ballclub was never known as the Spiders.
The Spiders were an NL team that was contracted in 1899.
