yeppp... i'll eat some crow. i was completely wrong. Macky has been awesome, he brings 110% every night.
I'm not real happy with this signing. Not a real scoring machine, not physical, not a defensive specialist just everything 'Meh'.
I'll make a prediction that this guy won't be with the team for the full 2 years. Either gone next off-season or at the trade line in a year and a half.
Haters Gonna Hate, but he is a pretty decent player. People are just so negative about he Alfredsson thing
Good for 15-20 goals, good signing for a second liner. Still need a first line winger though.
He's kind of walking into a volatile situation right now. Everyone's too pissed to celebrate getting a former Leaf.
That said, I like the signing.
What about this prediction?
Gosh, I had a lot of fun in this thread
This makes sense as a replacement for Latendresse, but if we do nothing else today we are in serious trouble.
At the end of the day this ends up looking like a decent signing. But man, at the start of the day it looked kinda sad. No, he isn't an Alfredsson replacement, but in terms of pure points he'll probably be good for about the same as our 41yr old former captain.
Underrated player, poorly utilized in Toronto.
Smart, cheap (for a UFA these days) signing.
Competes well enough but more importantly should harbour some ill will towards Toronto for not believing in him.
I like it already
so this is the pat yourself on the back thread now? lol
I bet no one on the planet was more relieved to hear that Bobby Ryan had signed with Ottawa than Clarke MacArthur after hearing Alfredsson signed with Detroit. That would have been one hell of a burden to bear for a former Leaf to replace Alfie in this town. And as it turns out MacArthur will now play on a 2nd line likely with Turris & hopefully have a productive season & not have to worry about the Alfie comparisons.
Don't see any prediction there on the player. Just where he will play, which was pretty obvious after the Ryan signing.
deserves an A on his jersey
