People talk about Virgil but we effectively lost Firmino as well. Such an important player over the last two years and he just smacked into a wall.
Mane too. It’s all Salah now and he looks like the only one that can score today too.

True, but Mane I could see rebounding.

The book is out on Firmino and he's going to remain easy to defend unless he re-invents himself as more of a threat to actually score.

Defenders have finally disciplined themselves to not chase him because he literally never shoots.

Mane is just playing bad while Firmino is suffering from more of a feature than a bug.

Three goals in 23 league games: Explaining Sadio Mane’s shocking Liverpool slump
Three goals in 23 league games: Explaining Sadio Mane's shocking Liverpool slump

All the other metrics are there except the finishing. Similar to Firmino. Been saying Mane has been way off since restart for a while now though. He gets a break because Firmino has been worse though.
Yeah, but that doesn't count for others apparently. And there's no doubt Arsenal is even more of a mess than Liverpool. So Mane gets a ton more chances.

What for Madrid; Benzema hitting post? LFC could have more than 2 also
Yes, Real has been the closest to scoring a goal. So if Wijnaldum sending an easy goal 2 meters above the bar is somehow what you call a "cirtual goal", than surely HITTING THE POST counts as more of a goal, right?

Firmino is on par with his usual scoring standards. He has 5 goals in 14 EPL games. He usually has 9-12 in 35.

Good season for him.

Sarcasm?

He is having his worst season in a LFC shirt by a good margin.

By the letter of the law that's not a penalty. Are they making things up on the spot now?

Dortmund have been screwed twice in this tie.

NFL: We have the worst refereeing decisions in sports
CL: Hold my beer

Lots of sports have bad refereeing and it's a very difficult job to do right. I don't think there's another sport where the whims of the referees determine the winner as much as this. It's low scoring to begin with and the referee decisions so often determine whether one team gets a goal or not.
