That's a great deal for the Nucks IMO. No one is beating that, Pujlu still has a lot of upside. Though your going to have to ask Oiler fans how they feel about it now versus the offseason.

If that was good for the Nucks then how good was it for the Devils in the Hall for Larsson trade lol.

I love it when fans of non-playoff teams make this argument. Rangers fans have been doing it nonstop with McDonagh as well. You do realize how bitter and sad this sounds, right?
lol coming from an Islanders fan that is hilarious You are ! point away from 9th. Bitter? how so? By simply saying Tanev will help you guys stop giving up 50 shots A game. btw we may have missed the playoffs the last couple of years. before that, we were constantly the best team for almost 15 years. With A few offseasons here and there. You pretend fans have the worst attendance in all of Hockey. You literally play in A rink that has thousands of seats where you have to watch the games on ATvv. What A joke. The 80,s are long gone dude. Hows that fundraising going for those billboards? Blaming snow A guy who stgole Barzel and is actually one of the more exciting gm,s in the league. Not his fault you D is riddled with injurys (hence why I suggested Tanev) Being A typical loudmouth obnoxious New yorker you chose to insult me instead. Stay classy and enjoy Brooklyn:popcorn:

I want the Hawks 8th overall for Tanev so Canucks can draft Wahlstrom and Dobson. Not sure what Hawks plans are. Kane and Toews only have a few more years left in their Prime. I would think Hawks would still try to win with this core before it closes.

I think the 8th overall pick has more value than Tanev. Canucks may have to take some salary or add the 37th overall pick. If Hawks want a forward. Canucks will need to look for 3 way deal.

Oilers would do Puljarvi straight up.

I'd think about that. But the Canucks would have to take back a contract, like Russell. Russell was actually quite solid and probably the least of our concerns this season on D, but someone has to go to make room and I don't see a more realistic option. Would probably be a 2nd to take that contract (just guessing), but since I think Pulju has more value on the open market than Tanev I'd do a 3rd.

So: Tanev for Pulju + Russell + 3rd.

Canucks fans probably don't do it, but that's the most I'd offer, and even then I'm hesitant to trade Pulju, an offensive player who very well could explode, for another defensive Dman a la Hall and Larsson (not saying he is or ever will be as good as Hall, but I do think he'll pan out to be a very good top-6 winger). I'd wait on this to see if there's a more offensive Dman out there we can grab, but this would be an acceptable sort of 'last minute' option late in the offseason if nothing else transpires. It worries me more than excites me, but I do think we really need another RHD, and Tanev would be an upgrade on anyone not named Nurse, Larsson and Klefbom. Nurse-Tanev, Klefbom-Larsson looks pretty solid top-4 to me, actually. Maybe grab a PP specialist as the 6/7th Dman, and hope like hell Klefbom bounces back to have another 40+ point season or the offense from the D is probably going to be lacking again.

I'm not sold on it, and wouldn't pull the trigger to complete this deal right now, but it's something I'd consider and have to think a bit about. It's interesting at the very least, IMO.

I think we find out in about 7 weeks at the draft, because I think he will be a Leaf by the end of draft weekend, and if it costs what I think it does which is a 1st+ prospect neither side is happy.

Leaf fans aren't happy because he is injury prone.

Canuck fans aren't happy because they want the earth, sun, moon and stars for Tanev and they aren't getting it.

I mean most Canucks fans want something similar to the hamonic deal (before Calgary tanked) a mid to late 1st and 2 2nds or a a-/b+ prospect

This is dead on. A supposed to be 15+ overall 1st and 2 2nds.
If we were trading the worth of a Seth Jones #1D, yeah of course anyone would be expecting a #1C like Johansen, but trading a high end defenceman who isn’t a UFA usually still costs more than the majority of offers Canucks fans have had to endure here.
Clearly over the past two seasons the two most common teams connected to posting in here or about Tanev, are from the Leafs and Oilers, who are two teams have shown that their need for better defenceman has cost them playoff games.

I'd do Tanev for 2018 1st + a conditional 2019 3rd (becomes a 2nd if Tanev plays 60+ games, and a 1st of he plays 75+). Maybe throw in a B-/C+ level prospect if needed as it's very unlikely Tanev reaches the 75 games played condition.

I offered something similar. 1st + 2nd + conditional pick. Under 60 games it’s nothing. 60-69 it’s a 2nd. 70+ it’s a 1st.

I don't think he gets what Hamonic got, Tanev is even more injury prone than Hamonic and like it or not that does impact value

Damit! Did not relise how bad he is now, I want the rookieseason version.
Too late. I already faxed a screenshot to the head-office
On a serious note, I'm sure he'll bounce back. I'm hoping he was horrible this year because of his broken foot

I think that's a fair offer. I like Jesse Puljujarvi, and think he can be a 40pt+ winger, but he still needs to develop quite a bit to get there. The Canucks would need to either sign a very good d-man, or convince Nikita Tryamkin to come back this season, otherwise the d-group would be atrocious.

I also think the Canucks take a while to consider this & see what the asking price for Erik Karlsson is; if it's similar to what the Habs wanted from the Canucks for PK Subban, then I would think the Canucks pull the trigger on a deal like that.

That is terrible for the Oilers. Like really bad. Tanev is worth a 2nd rnd pick at best, not a prospect that was recently drafted 4th overall.

Polite no from the Oilers on that one. Pizza Boy showed signs of why he was so highly ranked in his draft year. Oilers are not quite ready to give up on him for an oft injured D man

That is a horrible deal for the Oilers

broken record I know--Tanevs value to others teams is not as nearly as high as his value is to the canucks

if canucks want Pizza Boy we will trade him for your 2018 1st rounder

With Pizza Boy, I think fans will agree we will go down with the ship with his development instead of trading him and watching him blossom with another team
