Windsor won a Memorial Cup as a Host team. Good for them. They earned the right by making the best bid and securing the hosting duties. They weren’t the first and won’t be the last.

Host teams winning the Memorial Cup by “back-dooring it,” just prove the selection committee got it right and assessed that host team would be highly competitive and be a worthy Champion.
