Guillaume Asselin is way too high at 11 (Michaël Bournival from Shawinigan is a better player IMO, and he's not on your list). Yassin Cissé deserves better, Brandon Hynes too.

I don't know much about the draft eligible players for next year, so could anyone tell me if there are any big, relatively good skating, defensive D that look to be going in the first round.

Good list, just one little tidbit that I have, though.

I have seen Ryan Martindale play many times over the last 2 season in Ottawa, and from what I've seen I don't see him as a first round draft pick. Yes, he was close to a point per game, but he is very soft for his size and he really needs to improve on his skating.

I personally see him going closer to the middle or end of the second round.

I think Granlund and Kuznetsov are ranked way too low...

Agreed. Granlund in my mind is much better than Pulkkinen.

Granlund had 57 points in 35 J20 games last year as well as 13 points in 6 U18 tournament games and 3 points in 6 U20 games.

Granlund tore it apart this year.

I expect more next year too when he skates on HIFK.

Kuznetsov also had almost a goal and an assist a game in the U18 tournament. However there is the russian factor.

EDIT: And Fowler will be on Windsor this year

Alex Petrovic - Ignored right now but probably not after next season. Petrovic is big and mean. He can skate pretty well and has a great shot. Should put up better numbers on a better Red Deer team this season

Dylan McIlrath - One of my sleepers for next year. Again a pretty standard WHL defenseman. Big and Mean. Hopefully Moose Jaw is a little better next year and he can improve his overall play

Charles Inglis at #36? I mean I like the kid as much as the next guy, but he's going to be a bottom 6 agitator in the pros. He plays with a ton of edge and he's already one of the most hated players in the league, but I really don't see teams going after him before the 5th round.

I get that he was 4th overall in the Bantam draft and some people think he has a ton of offensive potential, but to me he's still a 5'11 agitator. An excellent agitator who hits everything and really works the cycle well, but still doesn't seem like the type of player who will go that early.

That said, at this time of year I always view these are lists as players to keep an eye on rather than firm rankings and Inglis is certainly a player to watch because of the intensity and physicality he brings to every shift.

Where are those goalies projected to go? I've heard Campbell as a first rounder, but don't know much about the others. Will any be around in the 3rd round?

Johan Gustafsson 15-25
Louis Domingue 25-45
Jack Campbell 25-45
Maxime Clermont 25-75

imo all 4 could be 1st round pick but i dout it, i'd say gustafsson is a lock for the 1st and one of the other 3, the other 2 likely go in the 2nd rd

granlund's size worries me a bit, and i see pulkinnen as a better scorer who's bigger and stronger.

as for kuznetsov i havn't seen a much of him or heard a lot about him plus russians worry me a bit

I'm surprised no one mentioned anything about Hall at number 2 and Kabanov at number 3. While I do think Kabanov will probably slip because he's a Russian, he deserves to go number 2 and potentially challenge for number 1. IMO Taylor Hall is number 1 right now, and Fowler number 3.

Granlund I think is a little low as well...and as someone mentioned I believe Courtourier is 2011 eligible.

But overall nice preliminary ranking. Obviously most of these rankings will change but it's nice to have some baseline to go off of.

imo inglis has a ton more scoring in him, this year he was asked to play the 3rd line grinder type to make the team next year I think he'll be asked to score more and play more with some of the older players moving on. love the way the kid plays
