Let’s go Checkers!
50 wins last night.
Necas hit 50 points last night.
Couldn't watch the game live on AHL-TV last night--forget what the conflict was.
Necas had a strong game--the year has seen him improve in almost every facet.
I was not a big fan of Gauthier, but he too has made significant progress. Now he is an offensive power and looks good killing penalties. Guessing he still needs another year, but he is consistently looking like a first-rounder the last month.
Saarela is a scorer. I hope he gets time on the 3rd line in preaseason.
50 wins checkers
50 points Necas
30 goals Saarela
2-1 after two periods. Necas has another couple assists.
Launch him into the sun he'll get hotter.. Please don't follow this advice. It may be criminal..
51 wins on the season.
Julien "Cy Young" Gauthier has 14 goals and 3 assists in his last 23 after another goal last night. Keeping a very impressive goal scoring run going.
Why pass when you can just score yourself?
Maybe more impressive is the 8 goals in his last 10 games.
Anything less than the Calder would be disappointing
Ned has had a great year.
But damn Tokarski is killing it since joining the Checkers.
7 games. 1.14 GAA .956 sv. %
Makes you wonder how good Ned really is if another goalie can have that kind of success behind the team.
I haven't looked, but was Tokarski drawing weaker AHL opponents like a typical backup would? Disparity in talent is high in the AHL.
He outperformed a Stanley cup winning goaltender this year
Necas is ready for the big show. Pretty raw kid but amazing hockey talent.
I guess I’ve never really paid that close of attention to the ahl playoffs - have they always been this weird?
5 game series against Providence in the first round. First two games are in Providence and the final 3 would be in Charlotte if they’re all needed.
Seems rather f***ed that the best team in the league has to start on the road. If they sweep them only one of those games is at home.
Cuts down on travel costs.
Minor leagues, yo. They can handle it.
