Maybe. Right now, the only "official" head coach openings are LAK (who it's been reported McClellan is all but a done deal) and Buffalo, who are said to want a guy with NHL experience. I think Fenton said Boudreau will be back so who else might be out of a job? Maurice? Probably not if WPG goes deep. Hitchcock? Seems odd since he's only been there a short time.
It might be a case where Vellucci prefers a AGM and player development role. If Waddell is truly moving out of the GM role after this year, maybe Vellucci steps in there?
He seems like a guy that teams would have interest in though. He's pretty much made the playoffs for every team he's coached and has player development and management experience on top of that.
