Zion has a decent-ish core around him now, whether or not those players blossom into their potential is yet to be determined however.

Yeah, Zion needs to stay away from the 34 y/o Shaq "Never miss a meal" plan. He'll be alright if he does this.

And speaking of never miss a meal plan, James Harden appears to be, puffy shall we say.

that Clippers thing seems like a nothing burger. I would expect Mr. West to deny any wrong doing but Kawhi Leonard is quoted as saying the guy had no influence on his decision on joining the Clippers.

Side note:

3 marquee players that I wouldn't build a team around:

Kyrie Irving
Russell Westbrook
James Harden

It’s been a really, really long time since the Hornets had a player I would tune in to watch as an individual.

Melo looks like that guy so far. Dude is gonna be a highlight machine, as a ballhandling playmaker.

Most likely yes, but considering the Clippers have been a circus since blowing another 3-1 lead it's still too good to overlook.

Baron Davis maybe? The NBA had never really seen electrifying point guards before him and Steve Francis made their debuts. And Baron was drafted at a time when everyone knew the Hornets were on the verge of relocation. As good as Kemba was, he wasn't must-see TV.

Will be interesting to see how the Hornets develop and build around their new star. History would suggest it won't be pretty but they've got some decent young players already on the roster, which they did not have when Kemba was drafted. If nothing else the progression of Graham, Bridges, etc should ease the need on overpaying Nic Batum types, or maybe not since they gave Hayward a ridiculous amount of money.

With a huge sample size of 3 games to judge by, I’m more excited about Melo than I was about Baron.

More James Harden news lol

Threw a ball at a teammates head and then headed out to the strip club. Now he will have to quarantine. This man just keeps destroying his trade value by the day.

Hornets look bad to start the season. But at least their uniforms look good.

I just watched all 5 of them jog slowly in the backcourt while the Cavs point guard easily threw an alley-oop to a Cavs teammate with no Hornet in sight. Great defense!

Edit: found it on Twitter to my surprise

I don't follow the NBA super closely, but I gather the Hornets lost a player to a fractured hand, had their star rookie score no points, and lost to one of the expected worst teams in the league. Cool cool cool cool cool.

Rough debut for young LaMelo, 1 rebound and 3 assists. On the other hand Terry Rozier making a point that he isn't giving up his starting job to a rookie, at least not now.

Also there's this

Not worried about it now, but it's just so, Hornets, to have this happen

About as bad of a start to this season as one could imagine. Oh well, hockey is back soon and the Panthers will hopefully get a QB soon...

I used to love the NBA on Christmas. I was probably about 6 when I first watched. Now it just sucks, too many games, too many blowouts, too many teams that have no business playing on Christmas, etc.

Hornets lose bad to Cleveland, should've lost bad to OKC but some late Miles magic got them close, and then they beat the Nets... Well, I'll stay optimistic and keep watching the games, at least until the Canes season starts, but I really just don't know what to think

Nets are an Eastern Conference contender. It's a nice win but the Hornets lack of transition defense will come back to bite them, in fact it already did in their 2 losses.

Well it appears Devonte Graham's sophomore breakout may have been a fluke, he's not having a good season thus far. At least they haven't overpaid him, yet.

Nice comeback win to beat Zion and the Pelicans in Nawlins. Hornets might become a basketball team just yet and by that I mean a bubble team at best like usual.

Yeah fun game. LaMelo has impressed the hell out of me. Wasn’t a fan of his before the draft and wanted Wiseman, but was happy we took him as he was the best prospect available at 3. Also questioned the Hayward signing but he’s a damn good basketball player. Still concerned about potential injury issues but aside from that, he was a hugely important signing for this team because of how difficult it is to lure stars here in FA. I think the team is finally headed in the right direction under Kupchak.
