Had to sift through a lot of noise in this thread but posts like this make that worthwhile.
So Schwartz emphasizes more of a stand up style? Does this not lend itself to being more reflex dependent?
Not sure if this had been answered. But partially, yes.
Assuming Kayen knows his stuff, then Schwartz would preach the ability to move efficiently enough to be in the right position (Angle, depth, et al) to make a save. Chabot (Allaire) instead focus their approach on covering as much space as possible in the net, which lends itself to the utilization of the butterfly.
So, instead of being able to move quickly and efficiently to make save after save, stand up or in the butterfly, you would be taught to drop down in the butterfly to make your first save (hoping for a clean rebound to the corner, or a whistle) and if need be, ready to push and slide towards a second save whilst still in the butterfly.
Punch line: Save versatility vs. taking up space, you decide whether to replace vs. with < or >
