Can't lay all the blame on Francis. They have an entire scouting and analytics department that is just as responsible. There isn't any. Francis is awful.

The picks they should have acquired were from pre draft deals.“Where’s the side deal for picks?!?”
“What a stupid side deal for a pick!!!”
This has been rumored since the leaks about the picks started happening yesterday. This actually is a pre draft deal. The picks they should have acquired were from pre draft deals.
And yes, this was a stupid deal.
Vanilla is better than Dominik Simon. He started the season as our best RW last year. This year our best RW is Nick Ritchie.is there a more vanilla player in the league?
Pre draft deal = "We'll give you this so you don't take this guy".This has been rumored since the leaks about the picks started happening yesterday. This actually is a pre draft deal.
i'm not criticizing the pickup for Calgary. Its just a really boring trade.Vanilla is better than Dominik Simon. He started the season as our best RW last year. This year our best RW is Nick Ritchie.
That’s so weird that someone would think a trade that came about pre draft would be considered pre draft.Pre draft deal = "We'll give you this so you don't take this guy".
Yup for sure. Not exactly a blockbuster. We need an actual top 6 RW at some point.i'm not criticizing the pickup for Calgary. Its just a really boring trade.
I don't understand this one either, I was thinking earlier they at this point need to trade for more players in the organzation. maybe possibly offloading a better asset player for a couple good asset players. Getting rid of a NHL level player for a 2022 pick seems to not help putting the best team forward.Yeah what the heck? Does Seattle not want any NHL calibre players on their roster this year?
i don't understand Seattle's motivation on this trade.

A pick that at best return a fringe playerThey are not competing and got a pick for a 29 YO fringe NHLer.
