It's funny he mentions Peeke but not Boqvist and Bean. None are waiver exempt, this is just Porty mistakenly thinking that Peeke was on the bubble and the other two locks.
I wonder if we could get Casey DeSmith from them?Hope it doesnt involve us but Vancouver is probably also working on something as they just took on more cap when already being over. Always seems to be speculation or just best guess but people seem to like Peeke to Vancouver. Problem is they keep suggesting Garland our way

I’ll do Peeke for Garland if they throw in their first round pick.Hope it doesnt involve us but Vancouver is probably also working on something as they just took on more cap when already being over. 2 years retention after this year when our RFAs are coming up and we should be entering the next phase of the retool/competing cycle? Im not sure its worth it honestly. Maybe if Vancouver retains some also but that defeats the purpose for themI’ll do Peeke for Garland if they throw in their first round pick.
We could then turn around and try to trade garland ourselves with heavy retention.

How do you know it was a mistake? maybe it was a consideration? I'm not sure I've heard anything positive about all 3 of them this preseason. Of course I'd give Bean the benefit of the doubt because his injury last year. It's funny he mentions Peeke but not Boqvist and Bean. We have $5m in cap space.
I am wondering what’s going on with Patrick Kane. I think teams want to see him play after hip surgery. Offer him $4 million and the chance to have input where we trade him (about a month before the deadline). Our young forwards could learn from him. We could put him on a line with Fantilli. If he looks good he will bring a nice return 50% retained.
Why wouldn't he just sign with a team that is for sure going to make the playoffs?I am wondering what’s going on with Patrick Kane. I think teams want to see him play after hip surgery. Not a fan at this point of his career. PP specialist and lazy defensively. Don't think he'd add anything to the teamI am wondering what’s going on with Patrick Kane. Kane would be great but seriously doubt he'd sign here.
Why sign at all then? Is it worth the few extra million to play on a team and get traded mid season? I'm sure he has plenty of money and if he does decide to come back it'll be to win a Cup. There's teams out there that could move cap space and will definitely make the playoffs. No cap space. Is he going to sign for league minimum with no guarantee a team will make the playoffs (who knows who will get a season ending injury on a good team)? He could sign with a team like the Jackets for a few million and then be promised a trade to a serious contender.
FYI. Keeping this thread open until tomorrow or Wednesday because there was no cuts.
It says Dumais on IR, not to juniors (yet?)Dumais and Mateychuk go juniors
Oops you’re rightIt says Dumais on IR, not to juniors (yet?)
Sillinger and Foudy survive the final cut while Blankenburg gets sent down.

You’d rather them roll with 8 defensemen? It says Dumais on IR, not to juniors (yet?)

He does not, which is why we knew it would happen.I’m confused now. Does Blankenburg not require waivers to be sent down?
7 defensemen and play Boqvist as a forward and possible PP specialist. You’d rather them roll with 8 defensemen?
