@Kshahdoo how do you feel about his undrafted teammate Alexander Barabanov?

Barabanov is a very interesting case. The guy is a magician with the puck, and a very good two-way forward. He's a very good skater as well. But as to his scoring, it's very inconsistent. He can score on a star (KHL wise) rate, and then go completely scoreless for a pretty long time span.

I'd say he can be a very good 3rd-liner in the NHL with an ability to play a top6 role, but not very consistently. He's pretty useful even when he doesn't score, and when he scores, he's just brilliant.

You guys keep belittling Foudy’s ENs but scoring them is a skill that we seem to be lacking in. Every time we get down to the last two minutes with a small lead it feels like a scramble to survive. We have space for an EN specialist on the roster.

Thought provoking discussion (more like a question): could Foudy be as effective in SHL as Bemstrom is currently? Pretty astonishing what Emil is doing at his age playing with seasoned veterans.

People belittle his EN scoring, but I went through every gamesheet for the Knights' games this season, and I counted 4 empty netters for Foudy. That's a fair number, but not something I would say is drastically inflating his totals.

The only people belittling Foudy is the person who "originally" questioned how many of Foudy's (recent) goals were empty netters, AND YOU, for considering him an "EN specialist".

I guess I cant speak for everybody, but I know from my end, the "empty net Foudy" comments are tongue-in-cheek.

HA, love the "timing".

Also, this move is pulled of very well at that speed, especially with guys "hounding" him.

He very well could be a speed/PK "specialist" or fit better as an energy "middle 6" guy in the NHL like a Grabner or Chimera (yea, haha, but actually LEGIT nhl career) but I'm not sure those guys have ever pulled off a move like that.

Different players.

I'd say they could actually possibly be very good linemates.

Bemstrom-Foudy-Texier

Is Foudy a center? Wonder about faceoffs.

Texier looks like a winger to me. Better version of Milano/Duclair.

Fire Siren.

Tex and Foudy are both C but can play wing. People said PLD was a LW after the draft and I kept complaining about his use for Canada on the wing and here to start on the wing and look how it turned out. Im not smarter then anyone by anymeans but they obviously drafted them as Cs and hope to play them there.

OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week: Liam Foudy

FoudyPOTW-1024x600.jpg

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Liam Foudy of the London Knights is the OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week for the regular season week ending January 27 recording eight points in three games with four goals and four assists and a plus-minus rating of plus-8.
His week wrapped up Sunday night in Oshawa with a pair of goals including a shorthanded highlight reel marker and one assist earning third star honours in the 5-3 triumph over the Generals. Foudy’s 10-game point-streak includes goals in nine-straight games which is one shy of the league’s longest such streak of the season. His two goals on Sunday also bring his season total to 25 which is a new career-high.

I've seen Grabner pull off a great move every now and then, but you could add his hockey sense to Chimera's and it still wouldn't add up to what Foudy has.

IDK about Foudy but I guarantee you Texier is a winger at the pro level.

So I looked into it....

Texier has played 38 games and taken 61 draws, going 21 and 40. And he's listed as a LW.

Player stats | Faceoffs | Regular season 2018-2019 | Stats | Liiga

Foudy has played 40 games and taken 194 draws, going 105 and 89.

Safe to say that while Foudy certainly has a better chance at becoming a C at the pro level, it looks like the odds are that BOTH guys will be wingers at the pro level.

Foudy has the tools! he seems to turn it up a notch in the 2nd half.....any which way he will make the NHL....the question is will he be a grinder or a scorer?

Isn't that about 54% for Foudy? Seems dece to me, at least not a reason to say he won't be a center. Or is your point the number of faceoffs he's taken. I dunno what's normal there.

Yes, the total numbers. He obviously seems ok taking them, but much more than 5 or so faceoffs a game would be "normal" for a true center.

So I looked into it.... Does anybody here know Eddie Bravo? No? Ok.

London had/have 3 true centers and then 1 more hybrid guy, probably similar to Foudy in that he fills in on occasion, and he's taken about 30 more draws. Then they just acquired another 1st line/true center that, to put into perspective, has taken 211 draws in 11 games in London.

So, I'd say that no, currently in the OHL or in Finland, neither Texier OR Foudy are actually used as centers. Regularly, anyway.
