They got Orlov not McAvoyEnjoy the regular season because when the clock strikes April he's going to turn to a $7.75 million pumpkin
Second best. Niskanen was better that year.He was the best defensive defenseman on a cup winner.
That was the reporting about what he was asking for 7ish years.7, what? The guy turns 32 this month. Maybe he's content with the money he'll make until the end of his contract and retires at 34.
3 players in 11 years doesn’t really seem like a lot.Capsnplayers like going to Carolina alot for some reason. Orlov , Semin , TVR etc. Suorised Orlov took only a 2 year deal. Good signing by the Canes. Their blueline is always strong.

Injuries wrecked us this year (Svech&MaxPac). We missed their production vs Florida in some tightly contested low scoring games.Yeah no weaknesses other than being unable to win a game in the conference finals. Other than that nothing.
Fair enough.Injuries wrecked us this year (Svech&MaxPac). We missed their production vs Florida in some tightly contested low scoring games.
Not in terms of transition offense.Pesce is as good as gone. Orlov from Pesce is a small upgrade.
Because he will want term, and CAR doesn't want to be dealing with it for the next 8 years. I thought this was crazy when I first heard it, but now I think it's a good deal for both sides(assuming that CAR can fit him).Way too much money. Awful. Why not keep Pesce?
Not to mention that TVR was a hurricane before he was a capital3 players in 11 years doesn’t really seem like a lot.
They also have Skjei who’s a year older, and needs a contract at the same time. Who plays left side like Orlov and is going to be overpriced because he scored 18 goals. They both may be gone but you’d think Skjei would go directly from Orlov. Neither belong on the third pair.Because he will want term, and CAR doesn't want to be dealing with it for the next 8 years. They need Necas, TT, and maybe Jarvis to up their game next season, and more than anything, have Svech healthy for the playoffs.

All of the Caps beat writers. Before he was traded he wanted 7 or 8 years, which is why they moved him.Reported by who?
Any source? All of the Caps beat writers. Before he was traded he wanted 7 or 8 years, which is why they moved him.
Dmitry Orlov signs two-year, $15.5M deal with HurricanesAny source?
We won’t need to score as much if we can keep the puck out of the net betterI thought their big need is at forward!
When you discard your trash like MaxPac can you please do it in a way the Caps GM does not see it next time. Now he is our problem, one of many.Injuries wrecked us this year (Svech&MaxPac). We missed their production vs Florida in some tightly contested low scoring games.

Any sourc
Over the course of his entire career he has gotten injured a lot, we already have one of those named T.J. Oshie. I have zero faith in MaxPac what so ever and our GM should be fired for that signing.I was actually hoping we'd bring him back as a kind of lottery ticket, but not at what you signed him for. He looked really good in the handful of games he played for us. IF the achilles holds up he could be a nice addition. Of course that's a big IF.
