Milbury pumping the Pens tires in the post-game for losing a 5-2 game but forcing Holtby to make saves late. Jesus christ.

It wasn't a perfect game, especially defensively, but they look so much crisper in transition than earlier in the season and the end of last year.

Superior teams will shoot the puck on net when they are getting beat. Its old school hockey, only the Rags/Pens/Redwings/Blackhawks do this.

Unbelievable, Caps were in control since the drop of the puck. Pens only got into it due to those two **** calls.

Refs tried everything they could to help Penguins to steal the W today...

Gave tons of questionable penalties to Caps players and PP minutes to Penguins to close the gap...

But still couldn't save Penguins from L.

In sum: Pittsburgh Referees - Washington Capitals 2:5

Milbury says the caps learned tonight that they can't take the Pens lightly.

Really? That's the takeaway from tonight?

In a strange turn of events, Pierre with a non-cringe worthy interview.

Can't tell if Milbury is going to start choking or crying when talking about Ovie.

Jones: Pens are going to win the division due to strength down the center, multiple weapons and goalie depth. Caps are right there with them in all of those categories.

Goalie depth?

Thank god I turned it off before he started saying this.

You missed him hemming and hawing around whether Ovechkin is the best goal scorer of all time, after a graphic was shown where he leads all 1,000 point players with the highest percentage of those points coming from goals (over 54%).

Milbury finished his verbal sidestep with "he's in the mix"

Let's see, the Caps have strength at center as well with the addition of Eller, Kuznetsov and Williams are turning the corner and starting to heat up, and Grubauer is a more than capable back up to last years Veinza winner. Oh and we have the best goal scorer of this generation catching Crosby in goals.

NBC for ya

This is the first game I've watched DVR style on NHL.tv, starting late and skipping commercials. Holy crap what a great experience! I might have to start tuning in late on purpose.

Caps have looked like their late 2015 selves for a couple of weeks now, largely thanks to strong play from 8, 19 and 70. 92's resurgence at the same time makes them almost impossible to beat.

All great signs. They're peaking too soon, but it's great to know they're still capable of being this good.

Please stop winning for a month. Hit rock bottom and then eventually build back up to playing this well for the duration of the loffs. Please God don't peak now. Please.

Also, great win. We're rolling right now.

Pls stop.

Go Caps...

Saw second half. Looked good, Pierre wished a fan merry Christmas when he threw a puck over the glass. Milbury still a useless turd. If only they had an option to watch without commentary besides muting the television..
