Did you see the TOI for the game? The TOI McMichael got over what he usually does all came off Ovechkin. HDH played their typical 15mins. Ov played 16mins.

This is off the mark.

Ovie saw less total TOI because the Caps spent all of 43 seconds on the powerplay.
Ovie skated 15:04 of 5on5, the most of any Capitals forward. That was higher 5v5 TOI than in the San Jose (14:40) game and right on par with the Vegas game (15:20). Suggesting he lost even-strength time to Connor McMichael isn't in line with reality. What happened was a more balanced ESTOI distribution across the board. All Caps forwards skated between 15:04 (Ovie) and 11:10 (Snively). Nobody was stuck down in the single digits.
