Nardella had all of his necessary paperwork completed and joined his new Swedish team on Wednesday. They have him QBing their 1st PP unit and there’s a good chance he makes his debut as early as today

Question: do we consider Sprong a prospect? For informal Caps prospect rankings purposes?

TIL that the Swedish Elite League (SEL) was renamed seven years ago to Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

What's the future outlook for some guys who made their debut last season...

F - Brian Pinho
F - Beck Malenstyn
D - Martin Fehervery

What kind of players are they, what's their upside and NHL projection?

Thanks!
Pinho and Beck could end up being solid bottom six forwards, either could make the team next year but its very unlikely.
Martin on the otherhand has a very large shot to make the big club long time and is projected to be a top 4 dman who excels in his own end but kinda lacks on the offensive side of things

Damien Riat is 1-4-5 in 5 games so far in the Swiss League. Didn’t realize it before but he’s on the same team as Eric Fehr and Daniel Winnik.
I realized this sometime last week when I saw a video on Twitter of Riat skating up to a guy between the whistles, chirp and then intentionally trip him from behind. I noticed Fehr when he came over to Riat and seemed to be telling to him to chill

And Pronman gives the Caps a boost in his updated post-draft organizational prospects ranking.. all the way up to #30.

NHL Org Rankings 2.0: Pronman's post-draft rating of every team's young talent

30. Washington Capitals
Pre-draft org ranking: No. 31
2020 NHL Draft grade: B-
The Capitals haven’t had a ton of picks in recent years. Some of their high picks have done well, some not as well. I like the swing they took in the 2020 draft on Hendrix Lapierre. I think that bet could provide value if he stays healthy.
1. Connor McMichael, C
2. Hendrix Lapierre, C
3. Martin Fehervary, D
4. Alexei Protas, C
5. Alexander Alexeyev, D

Caps 2020 4th rounder Trineyev has been promoted to the Dynamo Krasnogorsk team in the VHL.

https://www.si.com/hockey/news/whos-hot-in-europe-right-now

Bogdan Trineyev, RW, Dynamo Krasnogorsk (Rus.): After kicking off the junior season with 10 points in 10 games for the red-hot Dynamo Moscow junior team, Trineyev earned promotion to Krasnogorsk in Russia's version of the AHL. A big kid who brings a physical dimension to the game, Trineyev is a Washington Capitals fourth-rounder from the 2020 draft.

Pronman of the Atheletic lists 2 members of the Caps organization in his Under 23 rankings.

Ranking the best NHL players under 23: Corey Pronman's top 155

66. Connor McMichael, C, Washington
Jan. 15, 2001 | six-foot | 181 pounds
Tier: High-end/very good bubble
Skating: 50
Puck Skills: 60
Physical Game: 40
Hockey Sense: 60
Shot: 70
Inside the offensive zone McMichael has so many ways he can beat a team. He has great in-tight hands and ability to improvise with the puck. He’s a creative passer who makes the routine and unique passes to create chances. He can make plays under pressure and off the flank on the power play. He also has a fantastic shot, with the ability to pick corners from distance with consistency. McMichael isn’t that big or quick, which gives some scouts questions on how his game will translate especially given his lack of speed. He does compete hard and has shown the ability to continue to develop himself, as his game has gotten significantly better year over year.

83. Hendrix Lapierre, C, Washington
Feb. 9, 2002 | six-foot | 179 pounds
Tier: High-end/very good bubble
Skating: 50
Puck Skills: 60
Physical Game: 40
Hockey Sense: 65
Lapierre is an extremely difficult player to slot. He was a top player at 16. He had one of the best Hlinka Gretzky tournaments ever. Then the season started and he was good, but not great with only two goals on the season when healthy. Then the next QMJHL season started as he looked excellent, a lot like the player we saw a year earlier. He’s a highly skilled and intelligent player. He makes a lot of tough plays, projects to run a pro power play due to very high hockey IQ and has the great individual skill to be slippery in open ice. He’s a fine skater but his game could use more speed. Some scouts agree on the pace of his game, but some like his quickness. Lapierre was initially diagnosed with three concussions in a 10-month span, but Lapierre told The Athletic a specialist diagnosed him with twisted vertebrae in his neck that he thinks caused concussion-like symptoms. His game was just OK off the puck, and he didn’t attack the net that much, but it’s hard to know whether that’s how he plays or whether the injuries caused hesitancy.

It's almost like the vast majority of prospects aside from a McDavid could stand to be faster at 18/19. Who would have thought? Very cartoonish the way he mentions it so often and yet gives Auston Matthews & Braden Schneider the same grade. f***ing hilarious.

Again, a thankless job and a lot of detail here but also a lot of gibberish.
