Loved him. And saw Gretzky live a few times. Feel like both of them had a certain supernatural wizardy to their game. Kane is that way too

Nicky is pure brains and vision. He makes so many deliberate little decisions every shift, each of which affects the balance of play on ice - usually in a positive way and typically not as a result of something physical he does on the ice (though his hands are amazing - like that one hand cradle of a hot pass from Schultz right before Ovi’s goal), but purely as a result of a mental decision he makes. It’s just rare to see brains prevail as often as they do with him in a game that requires so much agility and physical brawn

Backstrom is also sneaky dirty. Not Crosby level, but he knows how to hit and slash in sketchy positions and gets away with it all the time.
