Whoa! Kempny is ripped! Or at least his upper body is lol.

My assumption is that his upper body has always been ripped and his lower body is too. There is a pic him doing squats on his insta too. I dont think being ripped answers the questions. But he does look great.

Hi everyone, hope this Thread is the right one as I couldn’t find a more relevant Title.

For those who don’t subscribe to THG. He’s not an insider or anything, just a fan of the Game who does a nice job of keeping up with the NHL and puts out a fair amount of content, which is nice during the off-season.

I thought some of you might enjoy his Season preview for the Team during these slow news days of August, or perhaps share this with someone just learning about the Team.

I find that although THG isn’t the most exciting personality, he breaks things down nicely for those newer to the Game or looking for regular content of the non-biased variety.

Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the summer with your families.

Cheers,

Always interesting to see comments like these…

Orlov had a bit of a tough season but is still a fixture in their top four. He’ll be 32 when his next deal kicks in and it wouldn’t be surprising if he is looking for a final contract at that time. With the big commitments they already have on the books (more on them shortly), that may be difficult for Washington to do unless Orlov will take a discount to make that happen.

At least one sportsbook also has Washington as a bubble team this year:

NYI - 99.5 points
PIT - 98.5
CAR - 96.5
NYR/WSH - 95.5
PHI - 94.5
NJ - 90.5
CBJ - 76.5

TB - 108.5
TOR - 105.5
BOS - 103.5
FLA - 101.5
MTL - 89.5
DET - 77.5
OTT - 73.5
BUF - 69.5

This looks about right to me, assuming the Islanders make the moves people think they are going to make with Parise and Palmieri and maybe one other.

Philadelphia had a pretty good offseason with the exception of the Ristolainen trade. If they can limit his damage and get adequate goaltending, they should be competitive again this season.

I doubt #5 in the Metro will get WC2 with Florida's ascension and the essential locks that TB, TOR, and BOS are to have good seasons, so the Washington C*pitals are going to need to finish in the top 4 more than likely if they want to make the playoffs. It's going to be a challenge given the current lineup.

I'm curious about Boston. Losing Krecji is a huge blow and most of their other moves seemed lateral. Ritchie at this point in his career is probably better than Nick Foligno and Lauzon was a loss compared to bringing in Forbort. They don't have Rask or Halak in net though Ullmark should be solid.

The Bruins made a lot of moves and locking up Hall to a discount was solid but I can't call them a better team after they lost Krecji who may be more underrated than Backstrom. Krecji was huge for them in all aspects of the game.

I'm most curious about Toronto. It feels like that franchise is at a true crossroads this year. At this point during the Ovie Caps era, the Caps at least have gotten out of the first round a few times. Which way will Toronto go?

As for the Metro. I hope everyone gets diarrhea.

We all see what we want to see.

seems like you want to see failure. I don’t.

NYI and PITTS haven’t finished ahead of us in years. Sure, PITT tied us. I get that. But they TIED us.

these projected point spreads are well within the plus or minus arbitrated by statistics.

it’s basically a 4 way tie for the Metro

Probably closer to a 6-way tie for the Metro, depending on how you view Philadelphia. If they get average goaltending they are right there in the hunt.

There's always a NY and PIT bias in the NHL media anyway. Don't care one bit about projections like this.

I like to believe that Laviolette might have some tricks up his sleeve now that he's finally having a training camp for the first time. I imagine it's hard to implement stuff on the fly in the middle of a season. I got nothing to base any of this on... just my hopes lol.
