Despite the score, it's been a surprisingly slow game. The scoring has come in flashes. Holtby has been great tonight, Calgary was gifted a goal on a BS interference penalty to OV.

6 of last 7 caps games have been at least a combined 7 goals.

This one looking like that too.

How about this stat.... Trotz had 3 times ever in his whole tenure this stat happened.

Safe to say this system with Reirdon is obviously wayyyyy different than Trotz. Trotz had lower scoring/more defensive based games constantly more.

They're aren't many, if any, who run a Trotz like system. If the Caps can give up 3 or less in today's NHL, with all the penalties that get called, I am ecstatic.

So far they've done that in 7 of the 10 games, and one with four goals went to OT.
