GMGM must like something in him

Trading late 3rd and two 4ths for a late 2nd is actually very solid value. By the book, we underpaid for the pick.

Whether Sanford is a good use of that pick is another matter. I have no opinion of the guy. Had never heard of him. But our scouts obviously liked him a lot.

you don't understand, this guy read a few blogs. He knows all about 18 year old prospects. The scouts that have spent thousands of hours watching these guys and decide on the picks(not GMGM) don't know ****.

Sanford:

Assets:
Blessed with both very projectable size and scoring potential, he has an abundance of offensive upside. When he has the puck, it's very hard to get it off him.
Flaws:
Must fill out in order to maximize his vast potential, and he also must prove himself against better competition. Needs to play a more consistent game, too.
Career Potential:
Big, talented winger with good upside.
