Funny after he called then team mentally fragile, I think the pressure is getting to Bruce too. It’s a contract year for him and missing the playoffs is considered a failure for him so I bet he's overthinking things. Like how do you go from trusting Burroughs as a top 4 dman to healthy scratching him the next night?

And how do you randomly pick out Garland as the guy to scratch just 4 games into the season? One of your best 5v5 producers last year.

Edit: and also splitting up Kuzmenko-Pettersson really weird. If it was really just about play, then he should've rode Pettersson-Kuzmenko as a true 1st line today with the Horvat line given 2nd line 5v5 minutes and the sleepwalking Miller line given typical 3rd line 5v5 usage. Instead he sits Garland, and splits up Kuz-EP and continues to play Miller big minutes despite his bozo play.

Really bizarre.
Boudreau didn't say the Canucks were 'mentally fragile', he said they were 'mentally weak'. There's a huge difference.

Saying that your leaders are 'mentally weak' is about as damaging an admission from any coach, particularly a guy like Boudreau who's on an expiring contract. That's a bullet aimed directly at management imo.

Unless this team pulls out of this freefall in a hurry, I fear the Canucks might be firing their second coach inside of a year. But have no fear. Mike Yeo, who's been fired in Minny, St. Louis and Philly is there to take the rains and pilot another lost season home. He's become a legendary for coaching teams in a spiraling freefall.

He can run our concessions.
This team lacks leadership.

Messier is known to be one of the greatest leaders in all of pro sports.

Deep down, Messier possibly feels bad about not winning a cup with Vancouver and so what better way to increase his legacy then to come back to Vancouver, in a management capacity, and teach this team about what it takes to truly win at the NHL level........and lead this team to a cup.

Stillman is probably just better than Rathbone right now and that's why he's playing. He can play low event, defensive zone minutes and Rathbone can't offer that right now.

Rathbone can move the puck out of the zone and generate offense. This team is never going to be good defensively so they might as well try to outscore their problems. And who knows... maybe he has more to offer?

Like what's the plan with this player. We are trying to contend in the next 4 years and need a top 4 dman. The only player in the system who fits that is Rathbone. Might as well see what you have at the NHl level for an extended 30 games before the trade deadline. This was the ideal game to get him in

If the plan is instead to use his trade value to bring that missing piece then wtf is going on. Either throw him in the lineup and give him favorable minutes to boost his value or let him dominate the AHL

Playing the likes of Stillman and Juulsen over him is a disservice to the team and player. Not like its paid off either

The role players and depth has been fine so far; Borroughs, Schenn, Podkolzin, Garland, Lazar, Joshua etc. have played good. It’s the Stars that have to really step it up; Miller, Horvat, Hughes, Pettersson, Boeser need to be much better especially 5-on-5 and defensively, and not get scored on short handed. PK is atrocious and needs to be much better.

I don't think Coach Boudreau is tradeable.... He came into this season not in the best of shape. He makes Ovi look fit.....

Sure. Whatever. I don’t care who assembled it if we win.

The "plan" is probably to send him to Abbotsford. I know people are desperate to see this player because there are no prospects in the organization but he wouldn't even have made the team if everyone was healthy so it shouldn't be a surprise he isn't playing.

You can’t. He’s probably got ownership in this loser franchise.

they have a few flashes or chunks where they control play but then it goes away. miss those prime sedin eras where it just seemed relentless assault in the other teams zone all game when they were on the ice. when we do score a goal its almost random or mostly off rush plays. lol kinda of been the constant thing about this team even though weve added more talent
