In his post game comments Torts blamed himself for trying to "stretch the bench" and having the Fourth line out for the last goal...the 4th line averaged less than 5 minutes tonight. Why doesn't Torts just dress 9 forwards if he won't use the 4th line? :help:

I don't know because the fourth line sucks? There's a reason they played as little as they did, yet they still screwed up.

It was actually pretty funny. Tortorella calls a time-out for them because they ice the puck. They successfully get the puck out and then they don't change (for whatever reason) and the puck comes back into our zone and the Coyotes score. To sum up, some dumb **** went down on that shift.

There's nothing wrong with bringing in a 2nd line center and having a very good 3rd line.

yes but is there any center that is avaliable to go after

I prefer to go after a less known center maybe someone like Hanzus that Chicago acquired for the playoff and was successful as he did help contribute unlike some other center

Fourth line needs to know their role - and they ****ed up their role tonight. The fourth lien we're icing is going to do nothing more than eat a couple minutes, and even then, if they can do that, it's seen as a massive victory.

I think that worked for Chicago because their wingers are elite. You have to have one or the other to make a line sucessful (a great center/or good wingers).

I just thinks it's not feasible in a cap era to have 2 second line centers. I would rather bolster winger depth, but that's just my opinion.

It is when ones making 550K

Bingo.

Our winger depth is fine. D. Sedin, Burrows, Higgins, Booth on the left wing. Kesler, Hansen, Kassian, Weise on the right wing. (Archibald, Welsh, Sestito are other winger options)

We can probably afford to bring in one top 6 forward at the trade deadline without having to dump Booth, a center would be the best addition with Kesler staying on the wing.

I'm so excited to do the next GDT versus San Jose. It's gonna be great. I can feel it in my heart. And my soul.

Or why cant we ice a half decent 4th line? with players who can play without getting hemmed in our zone?

If the Rangers are out of the playoff picture by the deadline we should go after Brassard.

There is no rush to acquire another center right now, and I would like to see Schroeder get some more games before the trade deadline, but if we want to make a serious cup run I think we'd be better off with a veteran who hasn't had injury problems in the past year.

I agree with you, I think. See what Schroeder can do when he gets back and re-evaluate after he gets a dozen or so games in. I would really like to bring someone in to keep pushing Santa but it's still early.

If they see more than three minutes against San Jose. We're doomed. Hell, I would rather not see them at all.

I think the biggest thing we can take away from the game is that y2kcanucks uses shootouts to justify that the Sedins are mediocre players.

Ironically, shootouts aren't even in playoffs, which is the main crux of his argument every single bloody time.

Just dress some PP specialists.

Wow buffalo is going to make us look bad if we loose to the sharks again.

Sharks lose in shootout, get 2 of the 3 stars. The 3 stars thing has become the biggest joke in the NHL. The home team could lose 10-0 getting outshot 50-10 and they'd still find a star or two on the home team. Miller 4 goals on 51 shots and wins in the shootout, doesn't make it.

I'd like another right winger for sure. Hansen and kassian on the 3rd and 4th lines in the playoffs or we're in trouble.

It's the same group of wingers that has completely failed to score in the playoffs for many years now.
