Patchwork defense was barely hanging on and is making it tough to get pucks out clean but another gutsy effort, Have to give huge kudos to Poolman and Schenn as Hughes and Myers both looked exhausted tonight after logging stupid amounts of ice lately and in Hughes case having a target on his back

Demko is elite right now....absolute stud

Nice to see Pettersson and Boeser get goals and Podkolzin continue to grow. Have to believe he learned a lesson at the end to always stay intense and make sure that pass gets through or shot at goal

Will this team ever lose again??? Hopefully can do better in hitting the EN because that last minute was just about survival.

Good

Hughes - another outstanding effort - has been good near all season and exceptional lately

Pettersson - good two-way game. You love the fight he is making in the corner but in the long run you hope he learns not to get you bogged down in them and can become more ready to produce offense. Players like him usually evolve into guys looking to get instant offense going out of their zone rather than grinding it out in corners in their zone. If that is to happen needs appropriate line mates and Podkolzin is looking like the prototype of that kind of linemate.

Myers - was a horse again in this one. As good as of the Canuck d-men were in this game none approached the level of play of Slavin who really is a great player.

Podkolzin - showing what a good two way, play in every situation player, he could be. Showing more and more an ability to think the play and get on people quickly. Might be a God send that he gets to develop under an experienced coach like Boudreau

Demko - at this pace might well be starting for the US in the winter Olympics. I'd say at this point he is better than Markstrom.

Liked

Lammikko - showed great hustle all game and good forechecking. Both him and Motte on the 4th line and on PK contributed . I wonder when Highmore returns b/c he could augment their type of play. Seems like he's been out for months

Schenn - simply not making errors - least that I'm seeing. Very solid play and while he take s his time he continues to make god passes up to the forwards.

Dickinson - really should have scored but he along with Pearson and Horvat were solid in their own end and were creating chances. Showing much better range in his play.

Poolman - kind of get nervous when he gets the puck but was good with the stick tonite breaking up chances - especially around his crease

Boeser - scored and with Miller doing a better job of trying to create offense deep in the opposition end. He is definitely working harder on the forecheck and defensively.

Others

Burroghs and Hunt - mostly good but when they break down have trouble recovering and are prone to very major screw ups.

Maybe the biggest change under Boudreau is that there are no passengers. Maybe the effect of a new coach wears off soon but, right now there is an obvious difference in this team from when Green was in control

If the team continues to show it can compete in any game, JR is going to acquire a defenceman, it’s just a question of who and at what cost.

Canucks have given up 5 goals on 4 games.

Stellar work from our coaching staff
Missing OEL too… its been a complete team effort with guys like Myers, Burroughs and Schenn stepping up big time. Wonder what the pairings will look like once OEL and Hamonic are healthy?

I still want to see Rathbone called up….

Pretty sure Rathbone is banged up or else he would have been called up with the team. Anybody know Brady Keepers injury timeline?

Let’s calm down. 3/4 wins with BB have been against teams on the back end of a B2B. LA and Car in Edm the night before while Win was in Sea. Only Boston didn’t play the night before. CBS not playing tomorrow before they meet Van on Tuesday.

Admittedly a favourable game from the schedulers, but a win is a win. With the roughed up D and the team still needing time to adjust to the systems, it’s still commendable they got it done.

Not sure how much longer the D can survive like this though. Myers and Hughes are already starting to show some troubles with the heavy minutes. But if the patchwork D group can hold on for one more win, they can hopefully get OEL back at least.

Happy that Boeser and Petey are starting to pass the eye test and actually get rewarded for it too. They are game breakers when they get going, and a hot streak from either could really help the team survive long enough to right the boat as the adrenaline boost starts to wear off and the new systems to kick in.

We're actually very lucky that we got Podkolzin & Hoglander playing for this team. They're both still 20 years old, when was the last time we had forwards this young make the team and already showing an impact. Hoglander has more points dan Kappo Kakko.

The 2019 draft was a big success for us.

Also the 2014 draft was not about Jake Virtanen, it was about getting Demko. Demko is just elite.
