It doesn't matter it hasn't and never will happen do you know how petty the Bruins would look if they refused????
So Molson really, really wanted Therrien gone.
For those asking, RDS showed this tweet on air

Excited to see how the defense will play under Julien, especially with Price in goal.
Why is that? They have the right to do it...
Michel Bergeron was on the pre-game show of Vancouver vs. Pittsburgh game on TVA Sports. He was with Therrien earlier today. They both went to visit Jacques Demers at the center he is staying. Bergeron said that they spoke about a lot of things including the rumors of his firing. He said that Therrien was very comfortable in his own skin and didn't seem phased. He was in good spirits.
When they were leaving after the visit, they were with Jacques brother when MT got a phone call. He stepped away from the other two. When he came back, he was less talkative in the car and was more in his own little world.
Bergeron says that when he got the call, he believes it was Bergevin calling to meet with Therrien to give him the news. Bergeron didn't confirm it was Bergevin who called. But knowing that he got fired, he came to the logical conclusion that it was the GM calling and that Therrien knew what was coming.
Oh look they replaced Michel Therrien with Michel Therrien
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
