Well I'm pretty much blaming the two guys who are gone already. But clearly Nas isn't part of the solution either.

People need to realize that the personnel just sucks. It doesn’t matter who you put behind the bench right now. It’s mind numbing that people still put blame on the coach when you have an AHL defense, Louis Domingue in net, and about 3 real top 6 forwards on the entire roster.

Zacha and Severson both.

Or Bratt, just because it's been a while since he's went, but I too have touted how he hasn't done **** in them since his first ever try.

Zacha was 1 for 2 last year I think, Severson was 2 for 3 last year, I think. He's 0 for 1 this year, if I'm not mistaken.
severson has scored this year in the shootout.

Stop sending Palmieri. Just stop.
Should have been Bratt.

But I can’t see trying to deke - All 3 of our guys try the deke move. Stupid. Bad ice, snow all over the place, not one of our guys shoots (on a goalie who got beat clean twice in the game) and 2 of our 3 shooters lose the handle on the puck.

Quibbles but just not smart hockey.

Nasreddine isn't an NHL caliber head coach, but what he keeps doing wrong is sending Palmieri out as a top-3 shooter in the shootout. He's nearing Adam Henrique percentages in his career and is 0 for 7 this year.

I don't blame him for starting Domingue though, Blackwood can't play every game.

It's time to call up Senn maybe. He's almost assuredly better than Cory and probably no worse than Domingue.

Even with that though, you still should hold a 3-0 lead at home. Maybe they get an excuse for tonight but this is so common it just gets folded in to all the other systematic failures.

Oh my, he does this year?

Then that makes the decision to not use him and keep going with the insanity of Palmieri even less justifiable than it already is.

This team isn’t well coached. I figured that was really obvious by now.

guys are frustrated and checking out so it’s only going to get worse.

What if... they can't?

Seriously though, at this point why not try Zacha, Bratt, Coleman, whoever. Palmieri and Hughes aren't the answers in the shootout.

Yeah, at this point in the season why not at least try something new?? Get an idea who to put out there in the future. Maybe Goalman and Severson will be the guys to use. We'll never know if we don't switch it up.

Who care about the shootout, they team blew a 3-0 lead. Hughes looked like ass again. This team is absolute garbage top to bottom at pretty much every position on and off the ice minus Nico, it's quite sad.

You're right, JK3.

Let's instead dump all the players and only have Nico play against entire teams alone instead since everything else we have is garbage. :dunno:

I mean...who is going to want to trade us good players for "garbage", right?

The shootout choices are just a distraction from the fact that we gave up four straight goals in like 16 minutes.
Touché . . . But where to start in discussing so much mess. Whereas in talking about the bad shootout choices at least we have one specific sequence of detailed stupidity to focus on. I mean just poor choices at both levels. Coaches with the choice of shooters; shooters for not at least trying to shoot the puck, given that the dude was playing deep in his net and that it was hard to make slick puck moves on bad ice.

Two of our three shooters lost control of the puck. It just illustrates and stands for a type of futility.

Can we call up Senn? I already have Domingue down for 12 goals stoppable on 34 allowed overall. That's identical to what I have Cory down for, who also has 12 stoppable on 34 allowed on my count. Only difference is that Domingue has a 3.5% higher save percentage than Cory does in the NHL this season and has played about 130 more minutes.

And that's not even dinging Domingue on a goal like the second goal he allowed tonight, where he looked lazy ASF, but I didn't mark it down stoppable.

There's like 25-28 more teams that have two goalies better than either of these clowns, but we aren't one of them. The Sharks are another team that doesn't.

Tying it up with the goalie pulled was nice.

But while we are on the subject of bonehead personnel moves, what about Will Butcher’s overtime shifts. Don’t know what Nas was thinking having him out there repeatedly in a situation where speed and strength are both key. People just skate rings around him.

The upside is that every painful game works towards Nas not being coach.
