Congrats to Norway, props, you guys played well and deserved the W.

This Canadian team needs to find an identity, us fans can see what it needs to be now it's up to the players and coach to see it.

Monty back in nets next game.

It was a far cry from that................but impressive nonetheless.

Taking the game to OT ensured Canada that any sort of win (regulation or overtime) against Czechia will get them 2nd place in the group (since 1st tiebreaker is head to head points). There is a small chance that they could fall behind Latvia and finish fourth (if Canada loses in regulation and Latvia wins in regulation/overtime, or if Canada loses in overtime and Latvia wins in regulation), but Latvia is not considered as likely to beat the top-ranked Swiss.

Not surprised at all, when I saw the roster Canada was sending over this year, it had to be one of their worst teams ever, this is not even Canada's B or C team, more like their Z team. There are some you guys with potential like Krebs, Quinn and Glass, but they are not star players at least not yet. Outside of Weegar and Toffoli, the rest are basically 4th line guys maybe one or two third line guys at best. Lucic has scored 3 goals, but looks even slower than in the NHL. This team will not go far.

Unless they pull a Sweden in 2006. ;)

He is the top Goaltender prospect in the world, arguably. He was a late pick of the Panthers, and then he was traded to Buffalo along with a 1st round pick in the trade that brought Sam Reinhart to Florida. He blew up in a big way at Northeastern University, where he won the award for top goaltender in the NCAA in 2022 and 2023 and he also started for Canada in the 2021 World Juniors and had a dominant performance. Following the conclusion of his college season, he signed with Buffalo and started 7 games at the end of the season. He was brought along as the second or third goaltender for Canada in this tournament.

Congrats to Norway.

But I also hope this game was very emotionally and physically draining, so that they're still tired tomorrow at 11 20 when they face Slovakia. Norway can't make the QF, last spot goes to either Slovakia or Latvia.

Still not enough information.

You’re saying he’s a hockey player?

He might get another game for this one. We will see.

It's a classic thing where the player got his nose bloodied up but people will insist no head contact was made.lol NHL nothing happens because of rule 48. IIHF is stricter on this.

FTR.. I prefer the IIHF rule more. And that is not something I type often.lol

Canada didn't need to win that game. Even if they had won in regulation they would still need to beat Czechia tomorrow to finish 2nd. They should have started Levi though. Hofer should never be considered for playoff action. It does makes sense to start Hofer if you don't want to take a chance that Levi or Monty get hurt.

I'm with you on this one, not sure why they are looking at Hofer as the 2nd guy here, really strange decision by HC brass, must have something to do with Tourignys comfortability with him from the WJC.
