Surprising in the sense that it wasn't expected to happen, but not surprising given just how snake bitten he looked for half of last season. Thought he at least was going to be given another shot especially given how bad we are on offense and would have preferred Lovejoy to have been gone before him for that purpose - not that we are any better on defense, but he was far more of a liability than Cammalleri was.
This doesn't guarantee at all that other big things will happen over the course of the next several days, but certainly makes these days potentially more intriguing.
