As of now Talbot is 23rd most expensive goalie in the league per capfriendly.com, so not horrible Browse - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
I can understand the gripe about the 3rd year. The money is fine, but 2yrs would've been better. Not a fan, honestly. It will largely depend on whose else gets what but 3 years is ouchie

Talbot got the NMC?
Talbot is better than Stalock. Stalock is a low grade backup. Our elite defense makes goaltending easy.
Yeah i don't see anything about a clause so technically there could be a chance we could get Seattle to take Talbot? 1 year rental? Is that reported somewhere? Cause I would highly doubt BG wants to expose Kahkonen
Holtby gets 2 x $4.3 AAV from Vancouver.
and provide mentorship to KK i don't see the issue here.
Ooof. I cant imagine we weren't calling him but my guess is he wasn't interested so we had to shift focus.
I can't wait for experts to go on about how he turned his play around, without mentioning that he is now behind one of the best defenses in the league.
I'm not keen on 3 years but I prefer Talbot at his cap hit. I expect that he'll do well enough here to make him easy to move after year 2 if it comes to that.Ooof. I cant imagine we weren't calling him but my guess is he wasn't interested so we had to shift focus.

No they don'tCalgary gave up fewer goals last year despite rolling with David Rittich most of the time.
They have arguably a better defense too.
Reasonable progression actually...Talbot/Stalock, Kahkonen in Iowa

Does Kahkonen become a group 6 UFA next offseason if he doesn’t hit 28 NHL games this season?
We’ve been waiting for Kahkonen to make the jump for a while now. If they’re not going to move Stalock to give him a shot as a backup, I’m not sure they see him and an NHL player.Talbot/Stalock, Kahkonen in Iowa
