Was really hoping he'd be there at 35 but now I am quite doubtful....

The kid hounds the puck like a boss, and then you factor in his high level of hockey IQ and good hands. Solid!

Really good game against Sweden today. Most noticeable out there for sure, not sure how much of an impact this tourney will have on where he gets drafted but hes defnitely moving himself up some draft boards

I like him much higher than where he is typically ranked. I think being on a lousy team held him back from a production standpoint.

Temper your excitement, he has 1 goal and 3 assists with all the ice time he can handle. Not sure about him. Does many things well. Does nothing great. Good depth player.

A point per game and a team best +5 through four games against the best U18 players in the world isn't good enough? Canada's scoring has been extremely spread out throughout this tournament. I think he's been Canada's best forward so far, and at the very least the most consistent.

I see a bigger Bo Horvat with maybe a slightly lower ceiling( although BH has already topped his "projected" ceiling)

Okay, not to call you out here, but I have to. You’re all over Jack McBain, but he seems better at most things than McBain, I don’t really see him being a “depth player”

Yes, I like McBain.
I like Dellandrea as well.
I never compared the two.
Different players.

I think Dellandrea is a late and fast riser. I can see him going top-20 and around pick 15 in the draft.

He obviously possesses many physical traits that will resonate with scouts and teams, but I am impressed with the kid's character. I think in some respects he has been penalized for playing for a bad OHL team in Flint (not intentionally, just how it works). I like to see how some of these prospects handle adverse situations, as it can better reveal their character IMO. Dellandrea has been impressive.

Playing on a “bad team”.
Means you get top line minutes.
1st pp and PK
Used in all situations.
A built in excuse.
If you get that, in any league, you’ll get your fill of points.

Go back and watch some of his games against top ranked teams. Kid comes to perform against the best of them and put up two goals in the top prospects game. Hoping he's there at 25 for the leafs.

Dont most 1st rounder get 1st pp/pk?

I don't necessarily agree with that, because it may also include playing with less talented players and being subject to more intensive defensive attention from opposing teams.

I suppose it depends on perspective and which narrative you are trying to advance.

A good amount, but it varies, and the divide between top line minutes and 2nd line minutes at 5v5 can be quite major in the CHL. For example Ryan McLeod and Barrett Hayton didn't get 1st line usage.

Generally, I think a bit too much gets made about the bad team narrative. But, Flint and Sudbury this year were absolutely terrible.

It'd be interesting to see how much Hayton, McLeod and Dellandrea's numbers changed if you switch their situations. I don't think there is a clear answer.

I don't think he'll go that high, but it seems more and more likely he'll go before MTL's early 2nd-round picks which sucks

A lot of love for guy who had
one point in u17,
0 points in 5 Games at Hlinka.
Under a point a game during the year (albeit
on a bad team) with all the ice time you could ask for.- PP/PK etc.
Had 59 points but was second on this bad team I scoring.
WAS A MINUS 30!!
Played way too much with u18 and was one of the main reasons Canada lost in Quarters to Czechs. (Because he played so much and did nothing very little)
Good player. Not anywhere nearly as good as the hype.
