a bump. RL is now 22 and has had nice progress in his AHL career so far.

1) 5 goals, 5 assists in 19 games
2) 13 goals, 13 assists in 56 games
3) 16 goals, 12 assists in 38 games

Is this really considered progress? He seems nowhere near being an NHL-quality player...

His NHLE based on his latest run is 31 points.. so bottom 6 and he doesn't have a very good bottom 6 game. He's definitely a top 6 type player.

He's 22 as well. Hope he makes it of course.

Although much older, a guy like Devon Shore has 5pts in 5 games. And we know he isn't scoring at an NHL level. Benson's AHL scoring certainly hasn't translated to the NHL (unfortuantely, big fan). Nor did Cooper Marody's scoring.

Seth Griffin leads the team in scoring with 44 pts in 50 games and he's not looking to be an NHL scorer anytime soon either.

Like I say, hope I'm wrong!

When hes on, he looks like a stud and potentially a future 2nd line/3rd line player

Consistency is the only thing holding him back

I think you're referring to Tyler Benson. He played 2 games for the Oilers at the start of the season.
He was actually my fav 2nd rounder... big fan. I was dreaming of a Mcleod/Marody/Benson bottom 6 line!

I was more thinking I was missing an obvious 2nd to 7th rounder that has played for us. I don't think I did. Definitely some D and a really good G but no forwards this season (or most of them as Khaira left and McLeod came).

The good teams don't.. true. I constantly complain my Czechs still do this. However, the Oil do follow this as well.

Basically an elite top 5 plus whoever the flavor of the week is (JP, Yam, Kostin, Holloway, Janmark, Foeg).. then a big gap in production. Kane missed games or else he'd be much closer to Hyman than the rest of the '25 to 30 point club'.

Here is the Bruins with a great 'Top 9'. Former Oiler Hall at 35 points and McLeod at half that... both are 6th in scoring. Their 9th guy would be top 6 for us.

Or the Leafs, Rangers, Canes .. all very balanced attacks. Oil doesn't have that. Would love if they did.
