The thing with Shanahan is that he knows that there are things he doesn't know. So what does he do to counteract that? He hires smart people around him who can make decisions about what this specific NHL team needs in this specific era of hockey.

So to answer your question, Shanahan easily. There has been pain but at least the current pain is because the bone is healing in place.

Yup, Shanahan is smart enough to know that there are people smarter than him in a various number of things. He learns from them, he takes advise from them & he hires them.

Kind of reminded me of some disagreements we had with a certain few people that don't hang out on the Leafs forum anymore, about Shanahan being smart. The disagreements were going on about 13 hours before the Leafs announced the hiring of Babcock.

They didn't like people calling Shanahan progressive & smart. Looks like the NHL emails & his work with the Leafs so far makes that a pretty good description.

Shanahan's hockey experience as a player & as a VP of the NHL is a little more relevant to Shanahan the President then HF posters opinions.

Well, that's Lou's & my opinion.

Kind of fun reading those old posts (about 2 pages worth before the above post) when you think that it was only hours prior to announcing Babcock being signed by the Leafs.
