As someone who watches AEW, I salute you for using it instead of the feds name.

To make matters worse, before the pandemic, the AEW refs legitimately got taken to task for bad officiating.

Yes, AEW holds their refs to a higher standard than does the NHL

So on top of the frustrations with the team, we are tied for 6th least powerplay opportunities and 4th most for penalties. No team has a worse powerplay to penalty ratio than ours at 3:4. The 3 teams worse than us when it comes to taking penalties are Anaheim, Montreal, and Detroit. Anahiem is ALMOST as bad as us but not quite (us being at 75% ratio and them being at 77%), but Detroit and Montreal both also lead the league in powerplay opportunities to go with their excessive penalties.

Not saying our PP would have bailed us out or anything. Just drawing light to the fact that people aren't crazy when they perceive us being penalized far more than our opponents nightly.

Only saw highlights. Looked like BUF had plenty of chances but no puck luck. Looks like Comrie even giving up 3 on 17 shots had a lot of difficult saves to make. The back-door play worked again for WPG. I hope a replay showed it went in off stick blade and not a skate.

I disagree. Despite his talent, he still needs players to pass him the puck, which, if you haven't noticed lately, the Sabres are doing a poor job.

A morale victory is usually nice, but when youve leaked as many points as the Sabres have over the past 4 games- you need points. Morale victories don't feel good at all when youre on a 4 game skid.

Teams go through their ups and downs, but it's incredibly concerning theyre going through their slump so early in the season. There's not going to be much wiggle room going forward unless they respond with a winning streak soon.

We have seen this story before, it cost them a playoff spot last year and I wouldn't be surprised if we look at this slow start into a losing streak this early as the catalyst to their downfall towards the end of this year.
