That would be huge... surprised if it comes in under 12
I don't know if the cap hit would be an 8 X12 as only McDavid right now has a cap hit higher than 12 but who knows really.

I'm thinking that he can sign for 6,7 or 8 years and still have another payday at around age 30 so the Sabers might be able to get him for 10-11 per as Makar signed for 9 million per.

12 x 8. Superstar Center + Superstar D signed for 7 years together at a 19.1 cap hit per season. Considering McDavid and AM will be getting 15+ by themselves on their next deals a few years from now that's a bargain.

Cap is going up over the life of it and McDavid will re reset the market higher within the life of it

Sure but Dmen tend to get a little less than forwards in terms of elite salaries so I think Dahlin will be under 11 million per for 8 seasons which will still be a great bargain and maybe closer to 10 than 11 million per.

I dont think we've seen his final form. This is a future multiple Norris winner and while I want the annual salary as low as possible, anything under 12.5 will be fair.

No way Dahlin was signing long-term coming out of the mess that was. I don't think he had any interest in signing long-term.
Probably true. But man, I'm sure there could've been some kind of compromise, like 5x8M or something. He's going to get an insane pay day very soon.

He'll take a team-friendly deal.

Of course, anything below $11m is team-friendly with the way he's been playing.

I'm guessing 8x10.5.

He'll be worth every penny. We've got a boatload of capspace, and we have some nice sweetheart contracts in Thompson and Tuch. We can afford to pay Dahlin what he's worth.

Still holding out a slim hope that he and his bestie Cozens take slightly more team friendly deals to keep the gang together. There has been commentary from various players about being committed to the team. Even still, that contract is going to be large. And worth it.

He's only 22 but I keep thinking he's in his mid 20's.

He will be a stud for years to come.
This.

hes, at 22 favorably compared to the “best” in the league at 24.

he hasn’t hit his ceiling. We haven’t seen his ceiling

all that generational D talk?

its happening,

im sorry,

but it’s true
