I sent a guitar pedal for repair in the US on April 28th, registered mail. As of today, it still hasn't gotten through customs and nobody knows where it is. I'm normally a huge USPS proponent and have had almost no problems with them before, but this is pretty frustrating.

Edit: If anyone knows more about the USPS / US Customs and who to contact, I'd greatly appreciate a head's up. It's a $300+ pedal that has a lifetime warranty, so I'd like to see it back in my possession.

Oof. Yeah...anything that has to clear customs has just kinda been sitting there, at least from what I've gathering from hearing a bunch of similar stories.

One of my friends ordered a bra from South Korea in March...and got it yesterday.

Lots of Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc. dishes are vegan or are very easily adapted.
All of the ones I eat come with chicken

How's your wife's switch to veganism going?
Good so far. She just started on Friday and isn't being super strict about it so far. She got a meal plan delivery thing, so her meals are good. But she already had a lot of snacks and whatnot here that she's not just throwing away. The hardest part will be holidays and really any group event where we plan to eat. I don't think she plans to just avoid everything in those situations, just do what she can when she's got full control of it.

Eat a bucket of chicken in front of her. Test her will. Test her might.

It's getting much faster. Took about six weeks for a package out of Germany ordered April 1

Looking about a month for my next item now...Which is almost preCovid timing anyway

Did your package do the thing where it doesn't show up in the USPS tracking system while it sits in customs? That's the worrisome thing about this mess-- my tracking number only shows that it was scanned and left the Czech Republic, and it isn't showing that it's been scanned in the US yet.

Yes.

It was out of Frankfurt with zero info forever until finally it popped up as done with Customs in New York.

Then finally transferred to USPS and more or less quickly delivered.

I think Customs was/is so backed up that they aren't scanning arrivals, only scanning when done with inspection.

Most likely.

Here you'll see it left Frankfurt 5/14

Then nothing until 6/04 when it pops up in New York then through Customs in "only" a couple hours but still a day and a half into USPS custody

My bet is they were/are so backed up they aren't scanning arrivals to Customs just departures and subsequent transfers to USPS.

But, yours should show something. Mine was only 2.5 weeks without update. More than a month of no info isn't good. Is registered mail insured? You can maybe start an insurance claim, if so.

I think that’s the best way to start things if someone wants to go vegetarian/vegan. Do what you can when you’re at home but if you are out at a party/function and there isn’t a good alternative then fine. Even the Dali Lama will eat meat when it’s offered to him lol.

Reducing meat consumption is still good for whatever the persons reason is (health, environmental etc). That’ll be the best way to help/best chance at success and try not to be too hard on themselves if it doesn’t work out from time to time.

I should listen to my own advice . I was going to stop eating red meat (and I did for a few months) then I went back to Australia to visit and some of my favourite foods had red meat in them. When I got back I didn’t go back to no red meat.

I'm going to call customs today, I already started a complaint/claim with Česká pošta, but they're claiming that the package isn't their responsibility because they delivered it to US customs. Just a whole lot of mess.

Well what was the movie?

Oh, right, that would have been prudent information...

A 1997 movie that feels like it could have been released in 2020 if not for the main character having to have the internet explained to her.

I've always been shitty to most forms of anime and I'm wanting to change that. Isekei and shonen poisoned the well for me, but thats like refusing to watch The Iron Giant because of the existence of Fritz the Cat.

Well...
You lost me at "Netflix softcore."

*clicks article*

You lost me at every single detail.

Netflix softcore?

You must be referring to the 'Anime' category.
I just watched the 'cooking ***' (with someone, i donno I forget the title). Anyway its a new anime release about cooking and I saw more basically naked ( nipple-less) men and women then I did in an nc 17 movie about stripping.
There are some other highly explicit sexual things going on too in that show... and I only watched one episode.

-----

What I came to post,
@Ogrezilla watched deathly shallow part 2 last night and finally finished the Harry Potter series.

Gotta say, part 1 and 2 should have been one long movie... well... not like I had to wait a year between the movies, but still... the first part was overly long and boring and the second part was equally long and drawn out.

I got twisted and turned into confusion in part 2...

So was snape his uncle?

They say the elder wand only could be wielded by whomever kills its previous owner --- then potter twists it all around saying "no, whoever disarms the owner" .... ok which is it?

How did potter resurrect himself?

I wasn't too big a fan of the last two movies. 3-4-5-6 was really good. 1 and 2 weren't bad but more intro-ish.
