Everyone is saying Sens learnt their lesson and will trade for best return this time around

They got a raw deal on Karlsson and Hoffman ... not this time

The only question is...is Jacobs willing to make Stone the new face of the franchise and pay him 11 million per season

That is what he wants

I'm not buying. sure their going to say it. Why Not?

The value rises the more teams who are in on it, but in the end if Stone is dealt it'll be out west. The guy is an elite talent and they'll get a hefty return no matter where they send him, so why would they realistically send him to a team their going to have to face at least 4 times per year for possibly the next seven seasons. Their a faltering franchise who have often shot themselves in their own foot, but I just don't see them doing it with a canon, but I suppose you never now.

Disagree. That would be more than any rental has gone for, for as long as I can remember. You can argue Stone is a bigger name then anyone traded in the last 10 years, but the biggest deals of the last 10 years for the top names is almost always a couple of picks, prospect, and possibly (not always) a young roster player.

Biggest NHL Trade Deadline deals in past 10 seasons

Take a look at this article to refresh on some of these deals.

Maybe, but how many of those guys on the list were in their mid/late 20's and arguably one of the top 5 players in their position at the time of trade?

Not to be a bubble burst-er but:

I just don't see Ottawa, dealing Stone to the Bruins, but Duchene and Dzingel maybe, but Stone is the face of their franchise and their not going to take the risk of not only trading that player within the division but having to play against him for the next 7 years. If he is traded its out west.

I understand what you are saying, but if the B’s offered more, why would the Sens take less to move Stone out West for a couple of months when Boston could still turn around and make a run at him July 1st?

Seems like that would be kind of short-sighted?

Donato. JFK. Zboril. 1st for Stone. I’ve thrown this out a few times with us taking Zach Smith back with him (would like Pageau more than Smith but taking his contract might put us over the top). Stone will resign here. No doubt in my mind.

He’s way more legit than your insistence that Heinen must be dealt to return a decent player.

Per your last post in the previous thread...

If those other guys don’t “move the needle” towards Tampa (which I don’t buy), what 30-35 goal wing other than Stone is available?

As far as Kovalchuk not waiving to come East, this was reported two weeks ago:

Kovalchuk willing to consider trade — The Fourth Period

Well his rumblings is not good news for your boy Heinen prospects to stay as a Bruin

Do I want to keep Heinen and obtain Stone?

Absolutely

But If Iam the sens I want a young cost controlled nhl player that has potential

Outside of Heinen, Debrusk, McAvoy...who do the Bruins have

Heck I would be asking for Debrusk, McAvoy... obviously Bruins reject

But if Sens ask for Heinen... I would bite the bullet and do the trade

Are you telling me, you wouldnt?

yea, I KINDA OF AGREE with this, the precedent was set then, turn it around, even, how would Boston fans feel in the same spot if a player they developed from Day 1 and Sweeney, or whomever runs the franchise at the time, sets, or shows his hand by bringing a 3rd team like the Sharks were to Ottawa, like they were to Boston, when we gave them Jones...

Absolutely, Stone given his age is probably the biggest name of the last 10 years or so. I still think two solid young roster players plus a first is more then he will get traded for. I could see one of Heinen/Gryz being a main piece, but not both. I just think if it does become an over payment you will see futures become the cherry. Like 1st 19, 2nd 19, topish prospect, plus young roster player type deal.

Just my thought I guess.

Jets will blow our offer off the table if they offer rosolvic or connor. Were competing with big big boys in the west who want stone badly.

Yes, there's a reason why Thornton and Seguin were traded out west, even though the returns sucked:(

They don't happen often, but trades can happen between these two teams.

Stone + Tierny/Smith

for

JFK/Seny/Lauzon/Zboril/Donato (pick 2, 3 if it pushes over the top)
1st
Grz/Heinen

Too much?

I feel like there would have to be something extra to push the B's ahead and close the deal. Maybe an additional pick like a 2020 2nd?

No... not worth it for the sens

Why would they want spare pieces ? Its the same mistake they made for Karlsson

**oops didnt see grz/heinen

...all of that would be too much

Peter Schaefer, the product of Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan and a former Brandon Wheat King. Oh how I wanted to you be a 20/30 guy for the Bruins. I wanted it SO much!
