Haha. Leafs logic. What does him being a local kid have to do with anything? I'm pretty sure its really only fans that give a crap about where a player is from.

ok, now let's do the math to fit:Krug
1 of Donato, Heinen or Bjork
1 of Lauzon, Zboril
Frederic
2019 First
For Tarasenko
Hopefully you can swing keeping Vaaka as the replacement for Krug so he’s kept out but I don’t know if I would let that hold up the deal
O'Reilly seems toxic. Teams improve once he is gone.My list wasn't exhaustive. But O'Reilly is another example of a great player with term getting traded for peanuts. The point is, if Tarasenko is available at all it means the Blues don't value him properly so he's worth pursuing.
I like the Crosby for Donato rumor betterKrug for rnh is the only rumor that interests me honestly. Rnh young former 1st overall with over 300 points in his young career .
Do people who want Lucic back look at his play the past couple of years? The numbers?
He is a whisper of himself.

and my point is that they can't fit another guy who makes 7.5 million for the next 5 years.
Guys who need contracts after this season:
McAvoy
Carlo
Heinen
Chara
JFK
Donato
and Debrusk needs a contract after next year.
I'd love to add a guy like Tarasenko but there are two major obstacles in the cost to acquire and the cap space to fit him.
So yeah it's easy to scoff at a guy like Schenn and say get the better player instead but in the real world it's not that simple. And I'm not riding my bike to work just because I can't afford a Ferrari.

Count you as one who hasn’t watched or looked at the numbersYa, unfortunately hes' not, what he used to be, but he still can help a team. The problem is with his contract he's expected to do more. He's a 4th liner today with the ability to play up at times. He still can scare the be-geezes out of defenseman when he's bearing down on them and he can still throw his weight around but don't expect much offensively.

Maybe, but its more of a pattern if it keeps happeningI would be extremely hesitant to jump to conclusions based on voodoo like that.
So much for some following your guideline post at the top of each page in this threadHe used to do three things.
Score.
Fight.
Hit.
I loved him.
But he doesnt do any of those anymore. Its sad. If you dont believe it either catch some of his games or read their board and rival boards. Nobody fears him anymore.
ok, now let's do the math to fit:
Tarasenko
Bergeron
Marchand
Pastrnak
McAvoy
Krejci
Rask
Carlo
Debrusk
all under the cap to start the 2020/2021 season
Backes under contract through that year too, but I'll give you a freebie that they trade him by then.
edit: forgot Rask lol
Schenn is about 2.4 million cheaper and has 2 fewer points. He also had more points than Tarasenko last year.Schenn is only 2 mil cheaper than Tarasenko. They can make it work. And it would be worth it.
It would be an awful waste to use the cap space afforded by Pasta, Marchand, and Bergeron's deals to pay for depth guys and complementary players. Your stars took crazy, below-market deals and you're gonna do 'em in like that so you can afford a couple of $3 million bottom-pairing defensemen and a $6 million glue guy?
Maybe, but its more of a pattern if it keeps happening

The Avs also got worse after trading ROR and had the worst record in the league the following year. It's a stupid argument to claim that teams get better when he leaves.I mean, I look at Buffalo and see they're a somewhat improved team because they're no longer using Ristolainen as a top-pairing defenseman and added Jeff Skinner, not because O'Reilly isn't there anymore. But that's just me.

He can't score no doubt there, its too bad because I'm still a big fan as well.
I do watch a great majority of his games because I'm still a fan of his and he'll fight its just hard for him too find a partner, I mean there's not to many takers out-there for him. He fought Peluso the other night, right after laying a great open ice hit on Hamonic.
You don't need to defend him. Not saying he's a bad player. But he is a complementary one. He's not a play driver. Yes, he's versatile. He has good chemistry with Tarasenko and Schwartz. But he's underwhelming at 5-on-5, which is where the Bruins need the most help. Tarasenko is great at 5-on-5. Yes, he would be expensive to acquire, but he would be plugged in right in the top six where the Bruins have the biggest need and would provide a much bigger impact than the $5 mil 3C (on the Bruins) PP specialist.Schenn is about 2.4 million cheaper and has 2 fewer points. He also had more points than Tarasenko last year.
And again the issue isn't just the cap, it's what it will cost to acquire each player. Schenn likely comes cheaper while giving you only marginally worse offensive production (if that) and he's also a more versatile player as he can play wing or center and is sound defensively.
Basing this off of DKH's proposal as an example, if the Bruins were to make a trade for Tarasenko (DeBrusk, Vaakanainen, Lauzon, Frederic, Backes) and the cap goes up to $83M, the Bruins will have Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak, Krejci, Tarasenko, Kuraly, Nordstrom, Wagner, Cave, Krug, Moore, Grzelcyk, Miller, Rask, and Halak under contract and $19,666,667 in cap space to re-sign McAvoy, Carlo, Donato, Heinen, JFK, and Chara to new contracts. The Bruins could always trade Wagner, Kuraly, Nordstrom, Cave and Milller for more cap space, extra $6.7M. Apart from McAvoy and maybe Carlo and Chara, I don't think the other UFAs/RFAs will get paid a hefty amount.ok, now let's do the math to fit:

Also Blues fans will tell you he has been their best player this year.
