This would be funny if Bert was still on the team. He chirped Chiasson a couple seasons back because the Canucks spelled his name wrong on his jersey...said something like "your own team's never even heard of you"

This guy's a dickhead , the kind you like when they're on your team not so much to play against. The FO seems to be obsessed with size all of a sudden .

It's a PTO which says that management is not fully confident he still has game.

Just one more obstacle for the prospects to overcome.

I would love to see more kids in the line up however they need to earn it.

Cap crunch, plenty of uncertainty -- PTO for Chiasson makes sense. If he sticks, awesome. If he doesn't, whatever.

With the Bs prospect pool being so subpar, the Bs need to have some cheap vets around in case the kids don't pan out.

I'm all for bringing in guys on PTO's to see if you can catch lightning in a bottle.....but this one I don't really understand. Chiasson spend most of last season in the AHL. He hit his peak 5 years ago and put up 22G/38P, and that is when is 3 most common linemates were Draisaitl, RNH & McDavid. Maybe they want to get a look at him and see if he could be a veteran guy to help mentor guys in the AHL (like Wagner) and be an emergency call-up type of guy

If he's challenging anyone's spot in the lineup I think it'd be JVR. They seem real similar in terms of what they might bring the team.
