man looking at that list makes me wonder why we didn't just extend Boychuk. The panic was that he'd get a ton of money on the open market, but that is a super-saturated UFA group. The sheer number of good UFA's would have driven Boychuk's asking price down a bit IMO.

hopefully that's still the case and he ends up just signing here anyway lol. As for other options, I'd love Marc Staal but he's gonna get a lot of money. Jan Hejda would be a really good pickup on a one year deal to buy the kids another year of development. He's a very Seids-like steady guy. Although I haven't seen him this year yet so no idea if he's one of the reasons for their slow start.

I think we need more than a rental on D. Although I don't agree with all your numbers, that lineup has Campbell and McQuaid gone and Morrow and Pasternak in their places. I think more salary needs to be moved for a top 4 D before next season.

I think you're on the high end for our rfa's and Yeti. I think we'll get Krug and Smith and 3yr/9m. They're RFA's not UFA's. Not as much leverage. I think Yeti will get about 3yr/10.5. As much as we like him, it's not like he's accomplished a lot in the league yet. I think Dougie will get a contract similiar to what PK Subban got at that age. PK got 2yr/5.75. Because of increased cap, say Dougie gets 2yr/6.5. His next contract will be the big one. Not this one. Also, Paille is a UFA. Without Paille and the lower figures I come in 4,850, 000 lower than you. We need a body to replace Paille. That's prob a kid like Ferlin.

I don't see how the Bruins can get Eberle without Hamilton being involved, and the center they would want is Soderberg.

If edmonton was involved, I wouldnt doubt that the M Subbans name would come around as well.

Edmonton is a grinder for goalies, and a highly touted guy might catch their eye

I dont see how boston has much use for him given the term given to Rask.

The Bruins should hang onto Subban unless someone makes an offer they can't refuse. If he continues to develop he can be the reason Boston trades Rask & clears $7m in cap space.

I'm not saying he will be, but I wonder if Spooner can potentially be a Marchand replacement. I guess it will all depend how he progresses playing LW in Providence.

With lackluster play until deadline, I could easily see Marchand moved. He's unfortunately not nearly as effective as he once was.

I think Boston is just off to a slow start. I think dealing Marchand would be a mistake unless he was packaged with someone/something else not in the top 9 fw/top 4 d to get a clear upgrade. I would say just keep juggling the bottom spots and let Gagne be the stop gap for about 20 games, then if things don't improve hit the panic button. But I think it won't come to that, there's too much skill and experience on this team to not make the playoffs, let alone challenge for the Stanley Cup. On top of that, those picks acquired from the Islanders, our prospect pool and cap space created from the Boychuk deal will make for some decent trade possibilities come deadline day.

Eberle is a soft one dimensional winger.

It'd be "half of Kane" all over again. No thanks

Go watch highlights of the Finals again. Seguin was responsible for facilitating like 90% of our offense. His passing was phenomenal and he was always in position for great chances. Sometimes his linemates couldn't finish, sometimes he just couldn't put it in, but he still generated a majority of our chances.

I would love Eberle right now. Chiarelli needs to suck it up and realize he made a horrible mistake trading Seguin. This team needs someone who can shoot the puck and facilitate offense. Who on our team can shoot right now? Who is our best shooter? Marchand?

Whether it means packaging prospects and picks and a cap dump for a guy like Eberle or going even further and packaging Lucic for a legit offensive player, this team needs to do something. Enough of everyone having to play the gritty "Bruins style" hockey. The league is moving in a direction where you actually need skilled offensive players on your team. The only forwards on this team I'm confident in offensively are Krejci, Soderberg, and occasionally Bergeron. Chiarelli needs to go get a legit forward.

I totally agree with this. I'm not dealing Subban anytime soon. Especially if Rask doesn't get over his Canadiens yips.

I agree with you (bolded). I think the front office makes the mistake of trying to JUST bring in "Bruin type" players. Of course they do this because it worked in 2011. I'd like to see a skilled shooter who maybe isn't considered a defensive specialist. I just don't think Eberle is that guy. He plays lazy & uninspired.

As far as Seguin in the 2013 Cup run, he did generate chances, based SOLELY on his god given abilities. He played scared, rush after rush we witnessed the same move as he tried to gain the oppositions blue line. He'd either attempt to head fake 3 guys, or skate wide & fire off a weak long range wrist shot. It may sound cliche to say, but he absolutely would not go to the dirty areas. I didn't neccasarily need him to throw hits, but go get the puck or drive the net with the puck.

Yea, for me it doesn't necessarily have to be Eberle. If there's a guy out there right now that's available who is more consistent, sign me up. I just jump on Eberle because I get the feeling Edmonton is trying to move one of their forwards.

For Seguin, he wasn't a perfect player. But in terms of pure skill set, he may be the best in the NHL . I wish the Bruins realized that the kid was only 20 years old, and his skills far outweighed his deficiencies. They should have given him more time. Now, at 22 years old, he's probably going to be challenging Crosby for the Hart.

Chris Kelly, Matt Bartkowski, a 2nd, and a prospect for Jordan Eberle?

Good job Haggs! You sure they don't want a half eaten slice of pizza from the Garden floor with that as well?

I don't see us having what Edmonton would want for Eberle...at least having it as pieces we'd be willing to give up. If all it took was Kelly, Bart, Spooner, and a 2nd....that should have been done yesterday.
